Possible. Anyway that's not a normal depiction of Adam. Gail Simone later stated that she thought Adam was stronger than Captain Marvel as Superman states here.

"Blessed with all the powers of captain marvel AND MORE."

"Hits harder than Captain Marvel too." She later apologized when she learned that Adam is equal to Cap in strength.

People don't realize that this issue further established that Superman is stronger than average Captain Marvel/Black Adam even while holding back.

Superman was holding back too and Adam's all out punch at the beginning when Psycho controlled him had no effect on superman except knocking him back. Superman wasn't holding back as much as he does near humans, that doesn't mean he was going all out.

This doesn't mean that Gail thought Superman could end the fight with any punch, just that if BA took one to the back of the head without defending himself he'd be in trouble.

With PIS off, Adam wins easily since PIS is what keeps the magic weakness so inconsistent. Just like PIS keeps Martian Manhunter from being fried by fire all the time, or Alan Scott from being skewered by wood every fight, etc.

What? Magic is a vulnerability of superman, not outright crippling like kryptonite and it has never been a factor in a superman/cap fight outside a single time in S/B and even in that comic Superman took several punches from Cap with just a nose bleed.

Hmm...yeah maybe no PIS still won't define Superman's exact degree of weakness to magic.

OTOH it will mean that Black Adam will use as much magic as he can, all the time, in the most effective ways he can.

But I agree, the degree of weakness Superman has to magic is all over the place.

At best its shazam lightning and superman has taken them with as much problem as a wonder woman punch.

Heck he even took several lightning attacks from ****ing shazam himself.
