M.G.T.O.W. (Men Going Their Own Way)

This is from the website www.mgtow.com:

"M.G.T.O.W. is basically the statement of self-ownership and saying that only you have the right to decide what your goals in life should be.

It is saying that, as a man I will not surrender my will to the social expectations of women and society, because both have become hostile against masculinity."

It's pronounced as (migtow).

From what I gather it's an offshoot of the growing Men's Rights movement (M.R.M.) or a protest that is not anti-women but anti the system that privileges females specifically in court, the media and the government at the expense of men here in the U.S.. It's anti-feminism. I read one guys quote saying "Men are just dropping the basketball and walking off the court because they don't wanna play in such a fixed game anymore." It's an opting out. It's anti double standards.

Would you guys join or not? Do you sympathize or do you think it's just men whining?

What do you guys think?

They need a new acronym. Men Going Their Own Way just sounds gay. Not that there is anything wrong with that, to paraphrase Seinfeld.

How does it sound gay to you? These men would still bang women. They just won't marry and have kids and responsibilities with them because of the biased system.

For example 60% of marriages end in divorce and guess whom benefits the most from a divorce. 70% of divorce initiators are women. Guess who mostly "gets taken to the cleaners"? Who wins child custody cases the most, even if you're a qualified man?

In the media men mostly are the idiots or the monsters.

The govt, who gets more housing and food via the gov't. There are far more cases of testicular cancer than breast cancer in the u.s. yet research is 1/6th of the federal funding breast cancer does gets.

So gay? How? Seems to me that they just don't wanna play anymore. Do it their own way. Going their own way.

I figured it was gay, too until I read the actual thread.

A lot of this sounds like needless whining and over exaggeration. If divorce and responsibility is too much, keep it in your pants. Problem solved.

I think men's unfair treatment by society is a very valid and important topic. I feel like these organisations or groups under banners of MRA (and perhaps also this MGTOW) do nothing to actually work against the structures that disadvantage men, they often disregard actual problems because they like them as the status quo and generally are nothing more than misdirected hatred of women and feminists in particular, which they falsely accuse of being the root of the issues that men face.

imo, any genuine men's rights organisation would try to work with liberal feminist organisations, against the system that is oppressing women and also harming men.

No it doesn't because it doesn't mean turning homosexual. It's just opting out of this anti male, female biased system, which is supported by men by indirect force.

Homosexuality has absolutely nothing to do with the mgtow movement. It's quite the opposite.

These were/are men married to women or dudes whom've had bitches for unappreciative gf's. They're tired of the system that heavily supports her unnecessarily, against us, on our dime..

They still love chicks, they're regular heterosexual men of all ages and like having sex with women and not men. They are not gay at all. Mgtow do not swear women off. Just the formalities and legalities and contracts that are of no benefit to men like getting married and having kids. For example they'll still go out with a chick. They just prefer to go dutch. Or they wont put a woman's vagina on a pedestal just to gain her approval or fight other guys who criticize female behavior just to get a shot at banging her.

"Keep it in your pants." No. We're gonna have sex with women. So deal. We're just don't have to impregnate them or sign veiled state sanctioned business contract to show how much we care about women. Followed by inevitably handing them our stuff for leaving, which is likely, according to marriage stats.

My point stands. Unless they're all willing to become sterile, the risk is always present. Also, the idea of men being unfairly treated is seriously out of touch with reality.

Oh yes, if you want to have sex, you have to be prepared to take responsibility. Or at least get a vasectomy. Both genders get treated unfairly in some form another.
