Surfer never utilizes superspeed in combat too. Post a single fight with Thor which shows either of them using superspeed. Not that surfer himself is some kind of uber speedster. He travels fast like green lanterns but his combat speed sucks hard.

Some random scan of blurs is now superspeed? Especially from silver age? You will have more success in proving Thor has super breath than having superspeed by that era.

If midnight has only strengh he loses. Thor is far faster in reflexes( tagged FTL people) and much more durable.

But, I guess the OP wanted the fight to be both with equal stats. In that case, Thor loses.

Nope. His more recent feats include using his insane strength, durability, energy projection, and getting punched in the face a lot of times. However, you might find a feat here or there of him using his heightened speed.
