Best Character of 2013

Who do you deem, out of everybody you met during your gaming journey this year, to be the best videogame character of 2013?

I'm going to have to go with Joel or Clementine. I have been growing partial to Edward Kenway though.

Mario, he jumps in turtles. Recently he dressed as a cat, that's just overwhelming character development.

By 'best character of 2013', I meant a character that first appeared last year. Lara Croft and Dante from their reboots are allowed for they're very different from their original versions.

The Link from a Link Between Worlds is a different version of Link, so it counts ahah

Yeah but she got more character development. Clementine in S1 was but a scared child. S2 Clementine is more mature and awesome.

But she's still the same character, she's not a new character of the year and there's only one episode of her development for the year of 2013. Would Mario be eligible if there was a new Mario game and he acted a bit differently than the last game he was in?

Yeah, if she's allowed, then say, Lara Croft should be valid too imo.

I recall Iwata clarifying it wasn't the same Link during a Nintendo Direct, but I haven't got my copy of the game yet, so I cannot say if his word was final on the game's plot.

Yep, it's certainly a different Link. Although, in all honesty, the game seemed more like a remake than a "sequel".

Mario and Baby Mario are the same yet treated as different characters by some. That's what I'm doing.
