I.e. if superman kills doomsday with laser eyes, when doomsday reforms, full power laser eyes wouldn't scratch him.

In their first encounter where supes all but died it was hand to hand.

Thus dooms is now immune to supermans punches

(dont ask me why its the writers fault)

King thors energy is quite different then a thuper fist, thereofre it's entirely possible he can be killed by it.

However the point of doomsday is that he will ALWAYS reform, so either there will be a much different round 2, or asgard will use magic and doom will never get close again.
