Comparing the two scenes:

That not called murder rob, if you don't know the difference between killing and murdering you need to learn that first.

Killing in self defense or to protect the lives of other is killing.

Murder is blatant for no cause other then to kill and bring death on another person without cause.

"Killing" What Caville did. Killed Zod to protect other innocent people.

"Murder" What Reeve/Routh did. Murdered Zod after Zod was no longer a threat to humanity since he was depowered. All Superman had to do was fly Zod to the nearest police station or military base.

Considering he didn't put his own father in harm's way and initially tried to save his father but backed down after daddy told him to stay put, it would probably be some manner negligence.

A superman would have saved him, a negligent man is not a superman. He didn't wan t to be on that farme or be a farmer and was down right screaming at his father about it 5 minutes before he died. He didn't want to be a superman he wanted to travel the world disobeying orders, getting into bar fights, destroying military drones, pissing off everyone telling humans they never can and never control him. He was and is a maniac with power and a killer to boot who let his own father die

Superman had to yell "I'm Superman" while getting trashed by some humans while mos just wanted to be called Clark.
