Kal has studied under wildcat, Batman, and Diana. Plus he has his Kryptonian martial arts to fall back on.

He's close to master in pressure points also.

Im pretty sure its not spite considering they have the same powers and Kal El is used to using his own powers at god level of Thors and Rogers is not.
