That black hole and the skyscrapers it was tearing in half, on the other hand, looked pretty great.
Atom Smasher looked like shit.
Does anyone else find it a bit dumb how Barry keeps going on about his "no kill" agreement with Captain Cold, yet killed this season's first 2 rogues? He and his team basically nuked one, and he electrocuted/shattered the other, yet tells Cold that if anyone dies, he's putting him away. Also, only a matter of time before the Prison Break jokes start now. 😆

Killing villains because you have no other choice and they will kill you and others if you fail is different from just murdering civilians.
The sand guy was one thing. He had a hostage and the lightning was the only way to stop him. But the team specifically lured Atom Smasher into that trap and killed him, and no one else was around. Then again, keeping them locked in that tiny bubble indefinitely isn't exactly great either.

How else would they have stopped AS? And he wasn't going to stop coming for Flash until he killed him, and you don't get that big without causing collateral damage. He would have hurt people gunning for Flash, probably killed them on accident or otherwise if he'd been around long enough.

Some of the smartest minds from 2 Earths and all they can think of is microwaving him? I find it hard to believe that they couldn't create at least some kind of temporary containment until they made a plan with him. They've done it in the past. Don't get me wrong. Second season has been another strong one so far, and I am enjoying it a lot. Just the way they took out Atom Smasher bugs me.
On an unrelated note, I will laugh pretty hard if Heatwave comes to break Cold out of prison.

Meh episode till the end.Spoiler:
I didn't expect them to actually show King Shark in this episode. That was a surprise, but the reveal leads me to believe Daniel West is Zoom (He's the reverse Flash in the new 52)
Spoiler:
I thought it was Wally being referred to though thinking back that might be weird so Daniel may be a better bet.
Recently caught up with the first season on Netflix, and the few episodes of the newest season that have aired. I have to say I enjoy it, though a lot of times I feel like the characters behave in a way that makes you want to face punch them.
First things first: Dr. Snow and her relationship with Ronnie. So she thinks her fiancé is DEAD. Upon learning oh wait he survived getting VAPORIZED somehow..she essentially pouts because shockingly not everything was wrapped up in a pretty little bow by the end of the episode.
She cries and goes on about how it would of been better if he'd died, then goes "well, time to move on" without like..giving the situation a few weeks to possibly work itself out. Or trying to find out what was up with Ronnie or any of that. It's just "oh, the guy I love who I have thought dead for 9 months is alive, but he totally isn't acting right and if there is anything I expect after vaporization I expect a dude to act right". One would think a person would be just THRILLED their fiancé is still alive and that they will have a chance to potentially work this out, but nope..she quite clearly begins having eyes for Barry for a split second..so man what an awesome fiancé.
Finally the finale..Reverse Flash has offered Barry a chance to go back and save his mother..in exchange for letting him return to his own time. They go over some of the pro's and con's of him saving his mom..except nobody seems to point out the elephant in the room: if all went well they'd be sending a murderous supervillain back to the future. The same person that literally broke the laws of time itself to murder a child. NOBODY ever brings up this fact.
On top of that, instead of merely saving his mother why didn't Barry just grab her and bring her back to the future? Wouldn't this result in the fewest changes to the timestream? He'd still grow up without a mother and the chances of the father being blamed and going to prison would still be high. Again: nobody seem to bring this up.
In some ways I was really hesitant about giving Flash his own show. If you looked up PIS in the dictionary you'd have a picture of Flash next to it. On a show like Smallville Clark had massive super speed, but a boat load of other abilities as well. All Barry has is his speed so when normal characters land hits it just kind of makes you shake your head.
