Same thing happened in Looper. Actually almost exactly the same thing happened as the Flash finale in Looper.

You can't really do time travel stories if it leads to a paradox every time. The changes made in the past have to stick, no matter what the repercussions are for characters from the future.

What if he pinky promised to never reproduce, ever? Would the Universe accept that?
lol this comment made me think that Eddie could have achieved the same result just by going and getting a vasectomy...

Great Finale, and Awesome season. This is still the Best superhero show IMHO.

And stop with the "Thawne disappearing from existence should have wiped out his whole history in this timeline". Have you guys never seen Back to the Future? Time travel movies/series hardly ever work like that because of this:

The way it usually works with time travel fiction (and the way it worked here) is that if someone from the future changes the past, those changes stick no matter how much the future changes. At the same time it's always the case in sic-fi that if someone's past self is killed, their future self automatically disappears.

Oh, you're undoubtedly right. As I said in my first post on this topic, you usually can't over-think time travel like this an apply logic to its.

I think the idea is that the future is still fluid. You still have control over the decisions you make. One of them was studying Chinese and the other another language, right?

Time isn't a hard fast rule in stories - if you do something in the past, it can simply change everything from the future, even the conditions that brought it to pass.

I know. I didn't quote you to respond to you. I quoted you to help explain my point.

Did anyone else notice Eddie got sucked into the time slip with pieces of Eobard's time pod? A time pod he had outfitted with Cobalt?

so the way they're introducing more metahumans into the show is by having them all come over from an alternate universe.

that's certainly better than making them all "bang babies".

What they need to do is have a crossover event with the movie-verse. Or one of those speed force montages where Barry sees, like, Christian Bale as Batman, then Ben Affleck, then Smallville Clark Kent, then a ridiculously brief shot of a comic book version of Superman or something. That would be epic. And I'd love it if they placed everything in a multiverse like that, which would allow them creative differences while still having some sense of continuity. It would also open the door for a ridiculous number of guest appearances. I mean, who wouldn't want a Dean Cain cameo (either as Superman, Vandal Savage, or both).

I actually don't mind that idea.

i dunno if it's official at all, but if you frequent the DC/Marvel Wikia, you'll notice that all the different movies, tv shows and cartoon shows are designated as different universes. eg. the cartoon 'Young Justice' is considered "Earth 16".

Jay Garrick Time!

So pumped for the premiere tonight

Spoiler:
Ok episode. Little disappointed how easily and quick the black hole was dealt with. Thought it would have more lasting effect but will have serious repercussions (alternate earths baby). joe needs to stop laughing at everything

Atom Smasher actually was pretty cool and über. Edge sure is looking rough though. Predicted the twist with him and the mastermind behind it

Flash signal? Oh lord. Iris is still the worst. Did not care Eddie died and didn't even acknowledge him in the least or was in grieving. Maybe they will focus on it in another episode

Haha Barry's dad. I'm free!!!!!!....see ya. I ain't got time to bond

Atom Smasher was pretty beastly.

Spoiler:
Initially I was cringing when he fought Barry and was hitting him. I thought "great, we have PIS Flash again". But when he was pretty much keeping pace with Barry over a much longer distance as well, I realised the mother****** is just really fast, on top of everything else.

I, for one, appreciate that instead of doing the morally dubious thing of locking the villain up indefinitely in a tiny room, they just straight up murder him. Much less messy that way. 😐

Finally caught up on everything. Awesome season 1 finale, and alright season 2 premier. Reverse Flash was an awesome villain all the way through, and the fight between him and the heroes was suitably epic.

Gotta agree with this. WTF at just murdering the villain. He was a cool villain too. Would have liked to see him again.

So far, this is the second best super hero show I've seen. Daredevil comes in first, but these two are both so good at capturing their respective heroes and feel. I hope season 2 is as epic as season 1. I'm glad Zoom is going to be the main villain. He's the top Flash villain, and I know Eddie will nail it.

Also hoping for Hal Jordan to be introduced this season. We need more League heavy hitters.

I don't want to see a GL unless they have the money to make the cgi look good.

A bunch of green constructs and a flying guy? The show has handled much more than that in terms of CGI powers. Weather Wizards powers or making a huge CGI Grodd seem more difficult TBH.
