Kalibak had Mantis, but he still had Superman thinking he underestimated how strong he is, and how much he could take. He wasn't one or two shotting him, that's for sure.
And partner or no, Kalibak deserves credit for the final blow he landed on Supermans noggin, before Orion came charging in and finished all three off.

I never said Kalibak couldn't ko Supes but him having a partner aided him with that. Supes had to focus on two people during that match and Mantis isn't a slouch either.
Even Mantis can't detract from Superman thinking he was wrong about ending it early, after Kalibak hit him.

While Orion basically did so twice, once in the Kirby era with near mortal injuries, and once in Walter Simonsons Orion, and there may be other examples.

When Kalibak has an edge on Orion, it's usually because of a power amp, like Darkseids power being added to his own, or the Belt of Strength in Simonsons Orion. It's not just how easily Orion handles him that's impressive, it's the fact he's usually beaten near to death by the power amps first, and still manages to do heavy damage.
And outside of the Imperiex example, Kalibak is usually treated as a fair opponent for Superman or Wonder Woman, so we know Orions not beating a mook.

Orion isn't above Superman. They are pretty much even physically and looking at fts, Supes is stronger.

As ruthless? Did you see the Hulk step on Arm'Cheddon's head, and how it went all slooch? I'd say that the Hulk can be plenty ruthless when he wants to, the only thing is that when he does, he tends to ramp way up in strength.
