Alex Wesker is dead. She was killed in Revelations 2 set before the events of RE6 but I won't be surprised if somebody found her research as the infected in the demo do look like they were exposed to T-Phobos. Maybe our villain is a grown up Natalia. Isn't she like Alex's clone or something?
Spoiler:
Remember, Alex succeeded in transferring her consciousness into Natalia at the end. That was Natalia that died, not her so she's alive and well.

Also, Natalia grew up in Terragrigia with her parents who died there. I don't remember any kind of clone twist

[spoiler]More like Alex's consciousness was copied and pasted into Natalia's brain that eventually took over while the real Alex still died. Having a hard time believing Natalia was the creepy hunchback lady.

Thats works too! Either way we've got Alex somewhere, and I reeeaaally want her to be done better. She was wasted in Revelations 2 IMO

So apparently, none of the demo is in the final game. Most are theorizing that the events of the demo are a prelude, where we witness where things go to shit in some kind of incident. The actual game will be the BSAA or some other bioterrorism organization coming in to investigate and uncover the areas story.

I like that theory. Really reminiscent of RE1

I'm not a fan of ghosts in RE. Then again, I was pretty hyped for hookman in Resident Evil 3.5. We'll see how they handle it, but typical long haird brunette ghost chick is not the right way to go about it.

Also, that Umbrella Corps game is out next week. Hopefully it fails.

Ghosts? GHOSTS?!

We've got new info. Apparently the developers confirmed in a walkthrough that there will not be any supernatural elements in the game. Thank f*ck.

If thats the case, she's either a hallucination, or a teleporting BOW (which sounds f*cking terrifying).

EDIT: Lmao at that video

Good! Now I can quit trying to live in denial haermm

You see her from the cameraman's perspective in a video recording. She's probably not a hallucination.

Buddy is looking pretty deformed there. So a virus that lets you retain human qualities? The thing that killed the cameraman and the dickhead anchor is seemed far more mutated though, and couldn't really do anything other than growl. Maybe the family man is in the beginning stages of the infection? I'm guessing the teleporting BOW is also part of the family, along with this guy in overalls.

I'm looking forward to seeing the full setting. I hope we get a huge mansion located in the bayou to explore.

lol

With the exception of first person, it all seems pretty spot on. I'm optimistic.

"He also stressed the demo doesn't feature all of the gameplay pillars that will ultimately be included in Resident Evil 7, noting it's only focusing on the "key pillars which are fear/horror and exploration of an environment. The other main pillars inherent to the Resident Evil franchise, namely "puzzle solving, resource management, and combat" are all "coming down the line," according to Nakanishi. "They’re all in there, but we’re focussing on horror has come home as a kind of theme for the teaser demo," he added. "So if you thought the games were going away from horror in previous years, this is just a statement of intent, purpose, to say it’s back."

Also, people think the RE2make demo is going to be in included with the launch of this game. I agree. This is too cooincidental.

Okay. Now I'm hyped.

The more I read about it, the better it sounds.

Finally tried out the demo last night and don't really have much to say about it that hasn't already been said, especially since what was in it was reported to not be in the actual game, but eh... yeah. It was effectively scary. Wasn't no P.T. demo, but it left an almost as good impression.

Still hard to say how invested I'll be in this even if I do get it, but a good bit more hopeful for it now aside from the 1st person.

Resident Evil 4 is still my all time favorite. I'll probably pick this up though. I hated the trailer though....HATED. Really dumb.

Yeah, me too. I will wait till a see more of the game but the E3 gameplay footage wasn't that impressive. I hope it doesn't turn out like a walking horror simulator. I understand people want horror but that's taking the game from all action to all horror which is not what I want.

Can I have a nice blend of both?

As we've seen from the last main games, a nice blend of both can rarely ever be done right. When push comes to shove, I say **** action entirely if that's what it takes to get RE back on its feet.

That's untrue. RE4 is a perfect example.

Going all horror without action is not the way to get RE back on it's feet. It's simplifying the game because RE6 had way to much shit and was muddled.

This discussion is pretty much pointless because RE7 director has been interviewed saying RE7 will have both. The difference is that the emphasis is more intense enemies but only a few of them. That's a good idea! Some of the best parts of RE4 was when being attacked by a select few enemy types but were ****ing terrifying (ex. Iron Maidens, chainsaw dude/dudette and Regenarators)

You do know combat was confirmed for RE7 right? In one of the links here, herbs are confirmed and the image six posts up shows the protagonist with a handgun.

But if you already knew and just want straight up action, buy Umbrella Corps.

As I said before. I know RE7 has been confirmed to have gunplay.
