Jon Snow vs Jamie Lannister

Started by FinalAnswer10 pages

Jaime, of course, being infallible and free of bias.

You didn't. You left out the most important parts:

The Citation
The fact that Jaime thinks he can beat them all due to his superior speed and skill (when healthy). 🙂

Neither of those parts are important.

You're so salty.

Jamie actually lists the Knights/Warriors who he considered his swordsmen/warrior peers* in a Storm of Swords chapter 21:

Brienne of Tarth
Robert Baratheon (in his heyday) (deceased when he made this observation)
The White Bull, Gerold Hightower (deceased when he made this observation)
Ser Arthur Dayne (deceased when he made this observation)
Greatjon Umber
Strongboar of Crakehall
The Mountain
The Hound

But, and this is what Jaime concludes in that little inner-thought of his: He could beat them all with speed and skill.

If we are to be serious, Jaime Lannister is probably the best overall 1v1 combatant (when healthy and whole) in the series.

*He specifically says "strength."

I remember that as well, but it kind of seemed like he was tooting his own horn, and wasn't really proven. As far as the canon of the story goes, he's a great combatant, but there are characters that he failed to mention, because he simply did not know them. As of now Jon Snow would win, and don't get me started on the great Hodor LOL.

Jamie

Since left-handed Jaime has admitted that he can't even beat a stableboy, my vote goes to the bastard Stark.

So you believe he can't beat a stable boy ?

😂

Considering he admitted so much himself...

So if robbie says geez this test is hard I'm going to kill myself we ignore he won't due to his lifetime of cowardice.

We also ignore his improved skill when fighting against Tyrion's former right hand man in their last duel and think a stable boy is better ?

Irrelevant.

He said so himself. He's almost useless with the left hand.

His later fight disproves your claim. Evidence.

It was a figure of speech not meant to be taken literally.

He's had no later fights.

Considering how useless he feels without his fighting hand, I doubt Jaime meant that in a metaphorical context.

His later duel showing his improved skill.

If you ignore the fight and take his words literally then by all means believe he is inferior to a stable boy. I strongly disagree. I will be proven later correct just like when you thought Sookie used the super nova attack initially against Warlow.

He admitted it. There is nothing to indicate that it was spoken in the same vein as rhetorical hyperbole. Absolutely nothing.

He dueled twice. The second time his skills improved dramatically.

Like I said you are free to be wrong. It hasn't stopped you in the past. Not grasping a scene isn't something new to you.

Practice sessions. He got beat in both.

You're a butthurt poodle.

No, it works.

Here is why:

When the fight got serious, they were still fairly even.

But Jaime was at a disadvantage.

Here are all the disadvantages Jaime was experiencing:

1. He was emaciated from about a year of shackled and chained incarceration.
2. His hands were still shackled and he could not pull them apart (he had to use 2 hands).
3. He did not have full plate armor on.
4. He was out of shape from not being able to move for over a year.
5. His skills with a sword were rusty because he hadn't fought for a year (he stated this, too).

But despite these advantages, here is why it was still very amazing:

Brienne of Tarth is one of the best and most formidable knights in contemporary Westeros. She won a tournament that was full of many of the best knights in the land. She also bested Loras Tyrell who is literally among the very best swordsmen in the land. And yet, this emaciated and shackled Jaime could hold his own against this knight.

That's amazing.

It would be amazing to get a side-story flashback of Jaime at his peak. He did slay 10 men out of the 40 or so that tried to capture him. That's approaching Guts (from Berserk) level of prowess. 😄

Edit - Quanchi, Epicurus troll u. 🙂

If you want to ignore the skill progression and just flat out lie, sure. Unlike you I don't troll.

Ps. DDM. This is why he isn't respected he doesn't believe the shit he posts. Me is a troll who created threads to bolster his post count not earning it the debating way. He just counts and posts numbers to bolster his post count like the spammer he is.

You really need to get that butthurt off your shoulders, rage-thread-stalking me isn't healthy. You also implied that suicide is brave, how silly of you.

Also, reported.

Was it that many? He killed a Hornwood and two Karstarks, who were Robb's guard in his bad-ass dash for glory.

Been so long since I've read the books.

It's chapter 63 of Game of Thrones....I don't know which page. If you have the time, find the passage or idea that we are pursuing.

Because if Jaime did indeed kill 10 of Robb's best men, that puts Jaime on a different level, as a swordsman, than everyone else.

If if was just those 3 notables, that's still pretty good but does not elevate him nearly as much.
