Kung Lao?!
He looks more badass than ever (trailer for him should be up by tomorrow or so), though I'm guessing it's not the present-day one who got his neck snapped by Shao Kahn in MK9, but perhaps the ancestor Kung Lao (from like Conquest/pre-MK1) resurrected. With how they are about twists now (like younger Sub-Zero becoming cyborg instead of Smoke), wouldn't surprise me.
Summarized info taken from latest issue of GamesMaster magazine:
. New online mode that allows you and two other people to fight against another group of three. Basically each person fights whoever they're matched with on the other team (the fights go on at the same time but through different games). Afterwards when everyone's done, the results show who wins overall based on things like "how many combos did you do" or "how fast did you beat them".
. A new online thing called Factions Mode. In this mode, when you first go online, you can choose one of 5 different factions based on certain existing factions and characters in the lore (Lin Kuei, Black Dragon, Brotherhood of Shadow, etc). Anything you do in-game will contribute to 'war points' for these factions. Whoever earns the most points in the week is declared the winner. The new mode mentioned earlier is part of this (matchmaking is decided by factions).
. A new dashing mechanic like most of the other fighting games. Also a stamina bar to prevent abuse.
. Confirmed to be running 60fps on both Xbone and PS4.
Also some other stuff but felt those would be the most important things to players here. The factions thing caught my eye/interest the most, though I'm not sure which faction I'd pick and then stick with. Would be hard to decide.
Anyone seen any of the MKX comics made/published by DC that came out this week? Some pretty trippy stuff happens in them, including but not limited to:
Kenshi vs Hsu Hao.
Hsu Hao getting offed by Scorpion... (like he was gonna be in the game anyway 😛)
Kano attaining a Kamidogu in the form of a dagger (presumably the earthrealm one) which he uses to give Sub-Zero a scar on the face, showing that the MKX Sub-Zero could be Kuai Liang instead of Bi-Han...
As a result of something called the Netherrealm Wars, both Scorpion and Sub-Zero gain their humanity back (regardless of which brother the latter is), with Scorpion being able to "tame" his demonic side now.. You see his human face here where he has a beard.
Daegon and the Red Dragon were also after the Kamidogu in this comic series apparently. Since I haven't read/seen it all, guessing they either stole 'em from Shujinko or they beat him to the punch in this timeline. Onaga won't be pleased either way.

Same here. Liked her MK9 design better.

First issue of the MKX comic in its entirety. Wish I had just found and posted this earlier.
Heard Scorpion and Raiden will be fighting each other again in the next issue..

Don't remember who he played in Arrow, but his Kano was one of the few only characters I actually liked on MK Legacy. R.I.P.
Coincidentally, the one who played Kano in the first MK movie also died at a young age. It's the Kano curse I suppose.
Some interesting stuff still happening in the MKX comics, but nothing too noteworthy like the first issue, as yet, aside from certain cameos that haven't alluded to much, for now.
Reptile confirmed, and two more characters to be revealed on Thursday on NRS's twitch stream IIRC.

I'm surprised Reptile never used his tongue as a move till this game... fatalities aside.
