I was clean for a couple of years but I recently relapsed and have started posting again. At first I was just looking in here to see if anything changed, then I got a couple of PMs from my old postin' buddies, I know I should've stayed away, stayed clean, but they just. kept. pushing.

I'm 35 from Scotland and currently living in China (Guangdong province 广东 )
I'm an English teacher, I am married to a beautiful Chinese girl and we have a 3 year old daughter. My daughter spends a lot of time with her grandmother, so mostly speaks Chinese at the moment, which is forcing me to try to learn more... Which ain't friggin easy.
From my own experience I advise you to travel as much as you can when you're still young.... and don't marry your high school sweetheart, I know many people who did and they are ALL divorced now.

Also a bit random but since you're in Guandong do you see a lot of advertising for the Chinese football teams? Guangzhou Evergrande is stationed in Guandong if I remember.

Haven't noticed it, GD is a big place though, bigger than the UK
When I tell my students that Scotland only has around 5.5 Million people they are all surprised. The city I live in (Dongguan) has about 8.3 Million
Guangzhou is about an hour from Dongguan and much bigger (it's the capital of the Province)
They also think Scotland "belongs to" England and no-one here understands what the UK is. I've explained it a hundred times, even made a PPT to show people. Chinese maps just have 英国 (Chinese word for England) plastered across the whole UK.

Yeah Scotland is still quite sparsely populated except for the big population centres. Dumfries where I am from is actually has a very small population. It's quite nice to it being over crowded in places like the middle of London which I can't stand because I am an Agoraphobia and I have Generalised Anxiety Disorder so it's just what I don't need.
Did you look into the whole independence debate at all? What did you think of that?
