If you could write a MARVEL VS DC story, what would be the premise?

I would base a crossover between the two universes on one all powerful being. It would start off with the most popular Abstract's of both universes being telepathically contacted by someone, or something above even their immense powers. And asking after what felt like an assault, who this being is, and what it is. It would periodically answer throughout the 12 part series in riddles of exactly what it was.

At first it would say that "I AM THE VOICE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS". With nearly the force of creation Which would be so powerful that it manages to toss lesser Abstracts like Galactus, and Eclipso light years from where the question is asked ("who or what are you?"😉. So powerful is the voice, that it opens a rift that spans the length of both the DC, and Marvel universes in all realities, across all time, and space.

It's entire purpose is the end of all things, a decree is laid out; that the old would be replaced with the new. Death, and it's Avatars are given more power over life, and it's Champions. Eternity/Infinity begin to lose power, and the balance begins to shift.

The being unknown to all fictional characters in the story at that moment in time, eventually reveals itself as the the Ancient of Days. In a last ditch effort the cosmic Abstracts from both universes come together in counsel, and decide to launch an assault of their own against this being known only at that time as "THE VOICE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS".

The agreement is made, and through a concerted effort, the Abstracts rip a hole in reality, and launch their assault. Flying through the illuminated rift, the battle begins, and for an instant they appear to be able to take back control of reality, but then are soundly defeated, and tossed out of the rift. They are defeated to the point of destruction, and then an instant later are remade whole, and the rift closes.

The abstracts no longer belong to one reality, but instead, when they were brought back from destruction after the battle, they realize that both universes have become one. As they were recreated, something new has been instilled in them, and war erupts between the Abstracts. All but the most powerful of them battle destroying huge pockets of space until the Living Tribunal separates them, The Spectre like Eternity is nearly helpless due to the nature of the Ancient of Days who actually happens to be God. They go back into counsel, and decide that the fate of reality must not rest upon them, but upon both universes champions.

Celestial, and Angelic envoys in the forms of humans appear before every hero in the universe, and tells them that it is up to them to decide the fate of reality. The Heroes go the JLA vs Avengers sort of route for a while, in order to determine who will be the main team to combat the forces of Death. So they battle it out to pick the cream of the crop.

That's what my premise would be, if I made a crossover like JLA vs Avengers, and it would have to be sketched by an awesome artist on the level of Jim Lee, or Dale Keown. Ron Lim would do as well.

Nice to see people would use the opportunity to be petty, rather than writing a story for the ages.

Hulk fighting the JLA.
Superboy transported to Marvel and him hovering in space staring at the planet with a smile on his face. While Surfer is flying from Earth directly at Prime with charged energy wielding fist.
Doomsday running at Thor knocking over buildings and Thor standing in a stance for a born bred warrior...waiting for his opponent so that he can counter and strike.
Wolverine and Batman ready for Battle.
Bane wants his rematch with Captain America and is standing in front of him growing in size with a grin on his face.
Joke blowing up building while laughing and gets sucker shot punched by someone. Him thinking it's Batman, he looks up and see Daredevil standing in front of him.
Deathstroke seeing a Shadowy figure running at him with long hair in the shadows and a blade, he thinks it's his daughter. After getting slash in the chest with a speed never seen before the street light beans across his face and we see a familiar face, Gorgon.
Buildings being knocked over, vars flipping, as soon as the dust settle we see Blue Marvel and Captain Marvel going at it.
A planet just explodes, a familiar planet, looks like Apokalips. Who has the power to shed a planet of that magnitude? Wait, someone lives, DARKSEID, and he is flying towards a bulky object. Let's move closure, they are engaging, the Shockwaves from this battle is mind boggling but who has the power to stand up to the mighty Darkseid, we are getting closer. Oh God, it's Thanos.

Aquaman, choking out Hulk with one hand.
SquirrelGirl becoming the new Robin for Batman.
Thanos becoming the new errand boy for Darkseid.
Dr. Doom getting his shit pushed in by Nightwing.

Honestly I'm not quite sure how I would write this story yet. I do know I wouldn't do the whole first their enemies and fight each other only to discover the true big bad and form the inevitable alliance.

I honestly believe that contrived fights between the heroes is the downfall of most of these crossovers.

I think what I would start with is an intro detailing how the universes discovered each other and now heroes and even villains can move freely between them. How this has been going on for awhile now.

Until one day all communication and portals between the two universes are mysteriously severed trapping the heroes in whatever universe they happen to be in at the time. Just as this occurs in one universe a large universal armada appears and begins attacking everything. In the other somehow a large portion of the villains and begin to run amok among the Universe. The abstract beings seem to be gone as contact with them is failing.

The heroes and villains of one Universe are forced to band together and fight the unknown foes as they desperately try to open a portal and get reinforcements from the other Universe as they are conquered.

As the heroes in the other Universe try and stop the mayhem that has started to spread.

Superman walking up to Sentry and telling him

"I am going to show you how to be a real man and how to lead all this guys"

Sentry unable to cope with the thought of being a real man starts flying to outer space screaming "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"................. Sentry flying to outer space screaming NOOOOOO? ............. Wait this seems familiar.

Thanos comes to Apolokips trying to steal the power from Darkseid, Darkseid Omega beams his @ss and teleports him right in the middle of Doomsday's hunter Prey rampage in Apokilips.

Doomsday beats the crap out of Thanos, Death comes to watch this and she and Darkseid laugh and make out on top of Thanos cripple body.

On a serious note, it will be something involving Hulk and Superman Team-up

Superman beating the shit out of Sentry.

Meanwhile in Marvel; Reed has given up on the apple and just carries on with his normal studies i.e save the world with something uber from time to time because I am that smart.

Now, back in DC, Brainiac 5 has came from the future to wage war, for whatever reason...
He obviously and easily finds Batmans batcave. He raids it personally with a few of his "bots" or whatever.
Comes across the apple, which he instantly realizes..."what the **** is that"

Now, Brainiac is defeated by JLA, but he has taken the Apple back with him to the 30th century(or 31st if you're picky) for furthur examination, breaks it all down with his superior intellect & superior and uber advanced tech that it is in fact, from a reality extremely similar to his own...he manages to reverse the tracking device so it is able to take him to its last location, but obviously for plot he sends it back in time to his younger self(the one living in the time he had previously waged war in) in the strongest theory he may be transported to a place that no longer exists, simply because of how far he is in the future from the time he actually swiped it from the Batcave.

Brainiac that is in the main time continuum recieves it, with instructions on what to do and what it is.

Now, upon transporting down the exact same path it travelled to get to DC...he has torn that very path inside out on itself, creating a portal for all to pass through(how? I dont know it just does for plot)
He is now in Reed Richards lab, who...well isnt home...braniac...being brainiac just takes allllllllllllll of reeds awesome universe busting capability thingy bobs back with him, and he quite clearly doesnt care about the portal, he just leaves it.

Reed arrives home, and reed being reed doesnt go thru the portal like an idiot, he monitors it blah nlah blah all nerd shit, and finds out that its a rip in reality, a literal doorway to another reality.

He alerts Sheild...and various other super groups and organisations.

So now A LOT of supers are involved, NY has been locked down.

A lot of abstracts and cosmic beings are also aware, BUT do not intervene unless they're threatened and they feel the Marvel U is threatened.
Of course Big G is on hand too, because of surfer, we see Galactus giving input etc etc etc (when really he only has his best interests at heart)

The Sentry, along with all other telepaths on earth mask New York from all outside interference ie no one can see whats happening.

But Loki being able to sense Thor's whearabouts and thoughts n shit, alerts all villains of this rip in reality. Along with various evil dudes having spies n shit infiltrating sheild and oter organisations at that current time so many villains know already, and alert the rest too.

OBVIOUSLY the exact same thing has been happening in DC.
Villains from both sides along with heros are all aware of this rip BUT have not passed through it yet.

From there I dont know where it would go or what would happen.
But what ever, Im not a writer. But it would just be a big uber series in which many die obviously and this time its not the cosmic forces or abstract entities forcing the battle, they are forced into battle themselves.
