Pictures have metadata, which can potentially contain location data as well.

When you take photos of yourself, there is data attached to that photo that can sometimes reveal your location. If you wish to remain private, make sure, before uploading photos to the internet (like KMC but not necessarily Facebook and the like) that you've scrubbed the exif data.

Photobucket and Facebook scrub some of the exif data for you, automatically. They didn't use to until some shitty stalking situations happened.
