No sir I wouldn't be shocked in the very least about PC Superman's vulnerability to magic because I've been reading comics on and off for over 50 years, this is how I know that the Silver age CM from Fawcett comics was on the same level as SA Supes by his feats alone, he did things like lift and flew with the entire continent of South America, moved the earth and other planets out of orbit with ease, tore off pieces of a star to fight against a vampire plague just to name a few.
I've been looking for a respect thread that highlights some of Fawcett CM feats but haven't found anything, perhaps someone can help with that.
I don't think that you know of the Fawcett comics Captain Marvel and his feats or you'll know that he was on par with SA Superman, I get the impression that your knowledge of these characters doesn't extend beyond the 70's which ushered in the Bronze Age Superman era, I say all of this respectfully, but the thing about BA Supes is that while he was much weaker than his SA counterpart, he still had some highly insane feats that rots on anything that other modern age high heralds have done from either company.
Your impressions don't matter here, though. Only facts.
Captain Marvel never faced Silver Age Superman -- only the Bronze Age Superman. By any measure of comparison - feats or fights - your statement that Captain Marvel is equal to the Silver Age Supes is simply not true. Captain Marvel [and his family] were planet-moving and star-moving level -- that's not even close to Silver Age Superboy, nevermind Superman. I mean, I could start talking to myself and post feats for both, but that's like a monologue.
You're right inasmuch as only facts matter, CM never fought Silver Age Supes because the character was shut down for 20 years from 1953-1973, when DC brought him back the Bronze Age era of Superman was already in place, when they went head to head for the first time it was clearly stated that Caps powers were much weaker in Supermans universe than in his own world.
You said that you could post scans........if they're of SA Superman than I don't need to see them as I am well familiar with them and some at a time when they were first published, if you have some of Captain Marvel from the Fawcett years then I would be glad to see them.
I legit don't understand this discussion. It was your position Captain Marvel was equal to Silver Age Superman -- then you must be familiar with his feats. Tell me any of his feats and I can post them.
