So, I just finished chapter eight and to be honest, I'm legitimately enjoying it. I like the characterization of Vos, and you can really hear Nika Futterman's voice in Ventress' dialogue.
I agree to extent actually, the story at least is good.

I did a review of the book for any that are interested: http://www.comicvine.com/profile/beniboybling/blog/star-wars-dark-disciple-book-review/107106/

EDIT: And has anyone read the sneak preview of the Battlefront novel at the end?

So I finally finished this. Going to discuss so SPOILER ALERT.

First off thanks to everyone who spoiled either here or in various other places that Dooku kills Ventress.

Anyway I have to say Vos pretty much kicked Dooku's butt fair and square. I was trying to find context, but all I could see was that Vos's unpredictability trumping Dooku's technique.

Also it was of course the fact that this was a Vos who fully embraced the Dark Side. Before that when he was trained by Ventress in the Dark Side he was still no match for Dooku. But still there's no denying that fully Dark Side Vos was clearly faster than Dooku in their fight. Possibly even too fast for Dooku.

Of course we can't guarantee Vos still being that good by the end once he's gone back to the Light Side. Still it's clear he's easily Kenobi level, and potentially ROTS Anakin level. Anakin actually fought Dooku pretty evenly (again) in this. So as of this novel the Fully Dark Side Vos did seem to be > Anakin.

Really wish we got that Vos vs Maul now that's in the concept art. Hopefully they make a novel or another Maul comic book of that one someday.

I've just re-read the second duel between Vos and Dooku and we see Vos stealing Dooku's lightsaber with the force. Now i'm not an expert, but if Quinlan is able to steal Dooku'slightsaber, doesn'it mean he's strong enough in the force to penetrate Dooku's force wall and steal his weapon? This one might be Quin's best force feat in the novel and would suggest he's quite close to the count in the force department. Now, i'm not sure, it might be a bulls**t , maybe someone cab tell me whether i'm right or not

Probably just caught Dooku off guard. Remember Dooku does get it back via Tk as well.

But still yeah, Vos was clearly stupidly Powerful to do that. It's not just anyone who can take Dooku's Saber off him.

Ok thanks

Regardless of how fairly Vos beat Dooku, Dooku was still solidly showcased as his superior in the Force IMO

Dmb, how would Vos fare against Bane in a pure Sabers duel, to quote DP?

Interestingly though at the end he not only blocks Dooku's FL, but deflects it back onto Dooku the way Windu did to Sidious.

Except IIRC Vos wasn't standing right over Dooku the way Windu was over Sidious.

Who else could it possibly be, though? Quinlan Vos stands over him with rays of light shining off of him, victorious under a smoking foe that intensely resembles Count Dooku. And then the next panel depicts him walking away carrying an injured Assaj Ventress into the sunset.

No one else but Dooku could fit in that scenario, man.

Vos has now become Edward Cullen.
