I asked her to take me to Spawn when I was 9 though.

Went back and saw this comment which is so much funnier now.

Yeah, multiple lolz now, what a doubting derp.

This movie is doing very well. Eight "Biggest records", three "2nd biggest" one "7th biggest" to name a few, the list goes on, but yeah, the R rating for a character like Deadpool was a bad idea to some, lolz. Shows you that some people (one person)never know what they're talking about or the characters they're talking about.

Forbes record link here edit: Link works now

If this flick had been PG-13, it would have been an entirely different flick considering how far they decided to go with the R rating and who knows how it would have turned out, it very well could have bombed.

I never said it wouldn't do well only better IMO. I don't think it would have tanked. Super hero movies that don't have an R rating have done far better than this. It wasn't that good either. I'm sure you loved it. Just a meh film.

Yeah could have easily messed this up with a PG-13 rating.

Worship this film all you want I like movies that aren't this cheesy and silly.

LoLz x 2

Yup, this success could have easily been turned into a turd with a PG-13 rating. Glad they had the balls to stick with an R.

This film may have changed things, this is how important it is: http://io9.gizmodo.com/deadpool-has-changed-the-x-men-movies-forever-but-thats-1758048487

"Here's the deal: Deadpool is a major, major success. It's made $132 million in its opening weekend alone, bigger than the first Spider-Man movie, Man of Steel, the third X-Men movie, and many more. More stunningly, it did this despite having a comparatively tiny budget of $58 million. Deadpool isn't just a hit, it's one of the most profitable superhero movies of all time and it's only been out for three days. It's this incredible profitability that’s going to irrevocably change Fox's superhero movie plans, but that may just be the beginning."

So laugh at the doubters, well just one doubter/whiner

You loved it which is fine as I didn't. Tickets cost today more than they used to so calm down.

Just got back from seeing it. Ultimately I'm glad to support more R-rated stuff like this, but it really just felt like a very weak plot dressed up with blood, nudity, and curse words. Dredd was much more interesting in my opinion. And I definitely wouldn't compare this to V For Vendetta due to the lack of plot. I thought it was best when it was subverting movies and making fun of stuff. The opening titles were hilarious and I loved the final scene because it worked well as a piece of sketch comedy.

[b]Pros:

Blood, nudity, curse words
Character chemistry
T!ts
Some of the humor works
Morena Baccarin
Makes fun of other comicbook superhero movies

Cons:

Very little plot
Some of the humor was trying too hard

Spoiler:
The side plot with the taxi driver was never tied up, was it? Wonder if some stuff about that was cut.

I finally got to see this movie in order to avoid the Valentine's Day crowd. Yet there were still 4 kids that couldn't be older than 10 when I saw it: which makes me wonder exactly what people do during the day where they can afford to dick around on a Tuesday afternoon....but I digress 🙁

Movie was simple fun and I'm glad Fox stuck with the R rating for this film. One of the better superhero films I've scene in a while. Ryan Reynolds loved being the character and it shows in this flick. Though there are little things that irritate me like

Spoiler:
The taxi driver subplot not being resolved and teased Gina boobs but not getting to see Gina boobs,
Other than that it was worth the price of admission.

This.

And it's not really so much that it didn't have much plot seeing as there are plenty of great films with very little plot. It's more the fact that a movie that is trying to be so edgy and in-your-face, but they use a major superhero plot cliche which is (should I really use spoiler tags? At this point I don't think I'm really spoiling anything)

Spoiler:
bad guy abducts girlfriend to get to superhero.
That was the big plot development for the final sequence. And it is telegraphed way before it happens. That's really what I mean by no plot. And then there's annoying don't-give-a-shit sidekick guy at the bar. There were just too many annoying comicbook movie cliches for me to really thoroughly rave about it. The villain wasn't interesting. But it had its moments. I definitely laughed at some of the twisted violence and humor. And it's definitely not the worst comicbook movie. Not by a long shot.

Freddy wasn't joking that he was fake and speaking to the audience. If you like fourth wall ridiculousness that's your thing. This movie wasn't as funny as it tried to be but you like movies with very little, plot and just mindless action. Simpleton.
