I didn't care for it. Transformers films don't flop at the box office either though they are flops for me.

LoLz

Also factor in no 3-D releases either, which can bump earnings anywhere from 10-30%

Only a complete moron would say this film flopped. Here's what are considered "flops": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_box_office_bombs

I still find Deadpool to be "okay". It was pretty good, but I don't understand the hype. I smiled for a bit of it, laughed a couple times...but it just felt forced to me. To each their own; I'm glad so many people found it to be that good to them.

Was it not in 3D? I didn't even realise. Damn with 3D and China this would have made a Billion.

Lmao @ any moron who predicted this would flop. Must be the Marvel haters.

For sure, 3-D sales and China would have propelled DP into the 1billion+ not-flop segment.

This movie beat Man of Steel. 😂

Destroyed a DC icon.

Am I the only one that prefers the non 3D movie times when buying tickets? 😬

I prefer non 3D films as well.

I made a pair of 2D glasses (turns 3D back into 2D) for the rare times I have no choice but to watch a film in 3D (limited screens, no 2D option etc).

Tbh 3D's just kind of forced on us with half the screenings in that format. But there's no doubt it inflates box office gross.

Sometimes more than half, SW:TFA I saw in 3D as over 80% of the screenings were in 3D. The 2D showings were regulated to the smaller theaters and inconvenient times.

My preferred theater (single huge screen with Lucas sound) didn't offer a single showing in 2D. This is were I went.

While I agree that 3D is generally annoying, I still think movies like Mad Max benefit from it.

Also its awesome to know that this movie is approaching Spiderman numbers. I hope this means that studios will stop relying on the "R-rated movies aren't profitable" rhetoric when given potential projects.

There was an article posted some time ago that pretty much said studios are now more open to dropping money into R-rated superhero films because of DP's huge not-flop success.
