Damn blacks. They're such savages. It's not as though the media actively traps them in a violent lifestyle by paying millions to rappers to sing about violence and not promoting more socially conscious rap, resulting in violent rap being what most black people hear and thus what influences their behaviour.

Funny you lobby all this hatred towards blacks, but not the white CEOs who created the "thug" culture by only signing and paying violent rappers and making gangsta rap mainstream instead of other more socially conscious rap. Hard for blacks to hear a positive message and change their behavior when the media is purposely suppressing that message and instead spreading one of violence and ignorance.

Why do you think you're far more likely to hear, say, Rick Ross on the radio than, say, KRS One? If KRS One style rap has more dominant media play, do you really think hip hop culture would be as violent as it is? It is ultimately CEOs who choose what music to produce, and again, they knowingly hire violent rappers over socially conscious ones. So don't criticize black violence and ignore the role of the presumably white CEOs who created the violent culture to begin with.

What the hell are you talking about dude? Seriously..you are blaming this on rap? And white CEO's? I'm very confused. Rap doesn't force someone to join a gang or commit violence.

Okay, so white CEO's are to blame for the problems of the black community now. Before I thought it was just whites in general, but nope those music making sons of bitches with their gangsta rap and all that, the poor black man just doesn't know any better and obviously is forced by the music to join a gang or loot a store on a whim over stupid shit.

It is never the fault of the people in the community, another excuse is always given. It is either blamed on being poor or the cops or now CEO's.

It is true what happened in St. Louis probably isn't defined as an all out riot, but once again we have pieces of shit taking any opportunity to steal or burn shit.

Then if one of these looters had actually gotten killed by someone working at a store we'd have their family on tv talking about how he was a good kid and didn't do anything wrong and all that shit. They'd find a way to blame the cops for that too.

😂

Lest post is so bogu it does not even deserve the Time.

Hard concept for you to understand it seems, but yes, something as simple as music can have a profound effect on one's behavior and culture. If all blacks here is music about ignorance, they'll act ignorantly. The thug culture, and thus the ignorance done because of it, is a byproduct of the music biz only playing violent music.

Also, as stated before in the Ferguson thread, opportunistic looters have no business being associated with any peaceful protests or the message of said protests. Stop acting like they were looting out of some sort of collective rage when they were just thieves stealing because they were poor.

Black musicians rule the industry, you are barking up the wrong tree blaming it on WHITE CEO's.

Jay Z is a billionaire. I don't recall him taking orders or blaming white CEO's.

You are out of touch.

Stop blaming it on being poor. They stole because they could, because they are pieces of shit. They were not starving orphans about to drop dead of malnutrition.

Do you see like Aladdin or something in your head when you think of these looters? They were not stealing to survive.

Aladdin😂

Great analogy👆

Umm...no.
YouTube videoInteresting song right. What if I told you none of these people were from the hood? Ross was a prison CO and Plies was a football player. If none of these people are legit "hood", why make the song? Why sing such lyrics about a lifestyle they've never lived? Because music execs want them to.

We could be listening to songs like this YouTube video
but that's not what the music biz wants you to hear. You probably haven't heard this song, and that is because BET refused to air the video because it was literally "too intelligent".

So I literally just gave you an example of how the music biz promotes ignorance and ignores more substantial rap. In doing so, it creates the thug culture that you're currently complaining about. So quite simply, again, stop acting like everything is black peoples fault when there are various external variables contributing to the trouble in poor black communities, the manipulation of music/culture being one of them.

Okay, I am trying to understand your argument.

Music makes "black culture thugs"? Meaning, because some black people listen to certain music, it makes them thugs?

True, but now this leads back to my point. What's motivating them and their criminal behavior? A culture of ignorance. Where did this culture come from? Violent rap music. Why don't they listen to other less violent music? Because violent music is the only music that record companies like to market. You see the cause and effect here?

Just saying, a kid growing up listening to, say, Chief Keef, will not have the same mindset as one listening to, say, Talib Kweli. As stated, music can have a profound effect on one's behavior and worldview. And the radio plays a lot more Chief Keef than Kweli, so there are a lot more kids being inspired by his violent lyrics than Talib's thoughtful ones.

Quite simply, violent music will inspire people to be violent, whereas thoughtful music will inspire people to be thoughtful, and as I just showed above with the two videos, the music biz goes out of its way to promote violent music over thoughtful music, so they share in the blame of the violence.

I grew up listening to The Prodigy and System of a Down but I certainly have not become an anarchist, bombed the US Government, or killed any cops.

Granted, I also listened mostly to Vivalid, Bach, Rachmaninoff, Stravinsky, and Ives. Don't know any terrorists or mass murders whose music collection focused on those artists.

This is anecdotal, obviously. But I just can't blame music on thug culture.

Well in your case, you listen to a variety of music genres. A lot of poor black youths only listen to one.

It's CEO's fault..always someone else's.

Yeah... LOL. Put the blame on anyone but themselves. Guess the CEO's put a gun to their head to make them play that garbage music. 👆

Essentially yeah. Just provided an example of how they make people who aren't criminals sing about being criminals.

Actually Jay z does, he finances them.

So yea the Black CEO's are guilty.

Proof that all rap CEOs are black? Pretty sure a lot are white or jewish.

Chicken and egg argument. What's the NWA quote? Our art is a reflection of our reality.

But as I just showed with the first video, it's actually not.
