Though there's nothing wrong with even being a fanboy (or girl I guess) as long as you can separate your feelings long enough to have a conversation or debate without it basically resorting to "nuh uhh my hero is great! Yours sucks!!" It's funny when done in jest or in places like the ownage thread I guess but for some this really is all it boils down to.

I think it's been a slight shift in Marvel's favour actually, despite Marvel comics taking a turn for the worse. Hulk fans have gained more legitimacy and Superman fans have taken a hit.
Green Lantern and Batman fans have diminished, as well as Wolverine fans.
