Nanatsu no Taizai

Heh, if that really is the case, SSjGGogeta, then that'd be a fight for the ages.

MC or not, the author isn't obliged to make things easy for any character.

Normally I'd agree, but given how big differences in PL make an actual difference in this series, any attack type magic they have likely won't work that well. And iirc, Gowther's current PL is around 3,000 as opposed to the 5 digits PLs the TCs have, so he was evidently depowered a fair bit in some manner.

You almost feel sorry for the commandment of charity. Seeing he's about to be burnt to a crisp and all.

Facing Escanor the living plot device at noon. Did he draw the short straw or what? Practically unfair.

Well, we've yet to see what else Estarossa can do. And considering he has some kind of other magic or spell or something that mutated painfully and killed that one bird back in chapter 136, there's no telling how exactly this fight will go.

Though Escanor still has the physical advantage if it wasn't for Full Counter.

You think Escanor might be this stories "Worf"?

He's been built up a lot. Usually, they do that with a secondary character to build up a villain later.

I hope he doesn't die, though. I'd be happy with an Armstrong vs Scar outcome, where they both walk away with an impressive showing..

I'm pretty sure that's what is going to happen. It's too early for either of them to suffer a genuine loss.

That said, if Escanor does end up losing, well depending on how it happens, I (and likely the rest of the fandom) will either be content with it or really pissed off.

This is Escanor's role in this manga.

Yeah, I called it.

Actually, it probably isn't over. The strongest Commandment simply can't be defeated to easily, or it would make Meliodas's comeback anti climatic.

Estarossa already survived one finisher, so he'll probably pull through this one, and move onto round 3. I predict he holds on until the sun starts setting. At the least, he'll be alive but out of the fight.

Escanor's probably going down before this arcs over.

Bro. Meliodas' comeback will be anti climactic anyways. He was killed like it was nothing, so him coming back is pretty much irrelevant. Not much he could do against Estarossa anyways.

And no, if Estarossa survived this, it's because Zeldris jumped in front of him to save him or something. Either way, one of them is dead, and I don't see Zeldris dying this early. At the very least, Estarossa will be so injured that he and the rest of the commandments are forced to flee, and even then I doubt that Escanor would just let them leave.

How will Escanor go down? He's literally the Superman of the series. He's literally unkillable while he's at full power. The only way someone could kill him is by attacking during nighttime, and I doubt Merlin or any of the other sins would let that happen.

Estarossa was terrified of Escanor's first sun blast. This one was like 10 times bigger. Estarossa is a goner, lol. At best, he might manage to retreat.

Chain him to the spot, wait for midnight. 😉

Or Gogeta, if Estarossa has his own "Full counter" variant, it stands to reason he may have a "Revenge counter".

So next issue he opens with that, incacitates/kills Escanor, and drops off from his injuries.

Damned 15 minute edit limit.

Forgot to mention a third possiblity: Gowther's "blackout arrow", which took him down after the vampire's defeat, and in the tournament. Gowther's pretty much always alternating between asset/liability, and this would be an ideal place for a face/heel turn plot twist. Perhaps opting to aid the Commandments in an effort to restore his memories, which he's obsessed with.

My thoughts: They both survived.

I can accept Escanor kills one of them, but not both. And Estarossa already survived that attack with the black demon stuff. Look at the last panel in the second scan, it looks like the black magic spreading out.

With two demons using it, they should have survived. Odds are, they're heavily injured/unconscious, and that's why they can't be detected.

Also, Escanor is so weakened, he's out of the fight.

Which is probably the point. A castle siege would have too many questions, with those monsters around. The rank and file members on both sides would be wiped in in a single panel.

Also, Zeldoris's "commandment" is still active.

And so is Estarossa's, judging by the fact the Holy Knights claimed they're only good as human shields..

While I was somewhat disappointed with how this fight went out, round 3 seems inevitable since we still haven't seen Escanor at the absolute peak of his power at noon or Estarossa's unknown mutation magic, which he used in ch. 136 to mutate that unlucky bird.

Personally, I feel that Estarossa will use said magic on himself to make himself even more powerful or something to better match up to Escanor... once he gets back up from wherever he got blasted off to.

More then likely.

In the meantime, this Goddess in an old man's body vs Demon looks interesting..

Hope so.

Sure does, especially considering how subtly hyped the goddess clan had been throughout the series. Time to see how powerful they are.

It was both anti-climatic, and kind of fun at the same time. Really more of a nice showing for the one who speaks from her arse.

The goddessl sure switched from arrogant to diplomatic in a hurry. 😂

It did reveal a bit about the goddesses.. Apparently, they're as evil as the Ten Commandments. Perhaps even more so.

Sort of the Lords of Chaos vs the Lords of Light in the Elric saga. No matter who wins, the mortals lose.

Anyways, been re-reading chapters. I have a really bad feeling about Gowther.

He can manipulate memories, he can take down Escanor at his peak, he already screwed with his own team mates, and he has a single minded obsession that he'll do anything to achieve.

Gowther might end up being the "final boss", or true vilain of the series.
