Not sure how big Roma's role has been since x-men die by the sword, but this would certainly have been a good time for the reformed Merlyn to try and step up.

Adult Franklin went back to his own time in FF #23, because he was worried about the potential universal repercussions that might occur if he were to continue staying in the same point in time as his younger self. Cap only encountered adult Franklin in the distant future when he was quantum-leaping through the timestream via the time gem. It's unlikely that we'll see him, but I'm definitely crossing my fingers....Though it would be awesome to see kid Franklin 'manifest' during this event, as his adult counterpart prophesized:
As it stands, though, Franklin is still just a kid in the current timeline, and was evidently powerless to stop the incursions:

wasn't sure if frank had been in any recent ff stuff. i've read the galactus seed theories as well. that one and the ult reed seem to be the prevailing ones. the seed sounds promising i guess, though still not sure how it would have destroyed its universe with its birth. so we know how long the incursions have been going on? can't recall if it has been mentioned in this 2+year long arc... 🙁

ok, i thought that was the case. the galactus seed as a theory then doesn't seem to fit the timeline either. i've seen other theories about alal--someone said an alt valeria? maybe council of dooms? i for one don't really have clue... who you think alal will be odg? galan, what's your best guess?

Galactus: "It will be immature... Lacking restraint... Everything would end... Sooner."
Black Swan also made a few statements to that effect when she was questioned about what/who Rabum Alal is...

Swan's descriptions of Rabum Alal mesh pretty well with Galactus' prophecy of the hatched Seed, imo. /shrug
Originally posted by leonidasMy top guess is definitely the hatched Galactus Seed(I called that reveal months ago.) My second guess would be Ultimate Reed/The Maker.
galan, what's your best guess?
Tbh, I'm fine with Rabum Alal being anyone/thing aside from Beyonder.

huh, can't really argue with your reasoning. i was under the impression that he destroyed his universe already and that's what started the incursions. i never read the ff arc only the thor related seed stuff. where was the seed supposed to have hatched? is it feasible it would have destroyed its universe?

It might be pointless me posting this because I may be wrong but the last time we see the Seed is when Loki took it deep into Yggdrasil.

There may have been a more recent appearance of it but as far as I know this was it.

The Seed hasn't been mentioned since the aforementioned Thor & F4 issues. Anyway, if this being is basically an evil/immature version of Galactus with no control over its hunger(which is kind of what G hinted at), then it's definitely feasible that it could have destroyed the universe it hatched in and triggered the incursions, IMO--remember what Galactus did back in the Black Celestial arc when his hunger was made to be insatiable? It would just keep consuming and consuming until there was nothing left to consume.
As for my second guess, Ultimate Reed/The Maker:
His ideals of perfection are quite.... Unconventional. If he thought that 'saving earth' would require the premature death of the multiverse, I have no doubt that he'd remorselessly trigger the incursions. He's a very, very dark mofo... And thanks to his evolution within 'The City'(wherein a thousand years passed in the span of a few weeks on earth) he's also about the smartest being in comics--arguably smarter than his 616 counterpart. I plan on dropping his respect thread tomorrow, btw. 🙂

it was said in one of the avengers books that alal was responsible for the early HEAT DEATH of his universe. the death of said universe led to the incursions. seems a pretty specific description of the death of the universe. not sure the seed being would end things in that way....? if the seed was still in the tree, not sure that fits either, though the rest sounds good. tbh i don't have a better guess. it might be cool if he brought someone back from the past but i really have no clue. and of course swan would have been full of sh!t with all she said about alal so there's that.
as for the reed respect thread--that should be awesome. lol i used him once in a tournament. WELL worth a respect thread. 👆

My guess is that this happened in an alternate future and event though the conséquences of the Seed hatching never came to be in 616, the fact that it happened in the future still made the incursions happening. I don't recally why I was left with this impression, I'll probably need to go back and read more of this stuff.

hmm. cool. an alternate timeline might explain the seed and how the seed being would have ended things without 616 being immediately impacted. heat death still seems an odd description but i like your idea. 👆
