In a saber duel it was clear that he fought faster than Maul could perceive in the book, and could at any time by virtue of being faster blitzed them. This is kind of supported by his feats elsewhere?
Book is non-canon, TV show is canon.
And no, even book says Maul can perceive Sidious's top speed but he can't keep up with his speed entirely, dodging from his two attack in one-on-one duel is more than enough.
And here, there is Plagueis, who can easily tag Sidious's top speed. Maul can do much better in 2 v 1 here.

Sidious raised his saber and flew at Maul, who parried desperately, his mechanical legs whirring as he sought to counter his former Master’s blows. Sidious’s sabers were a blur, a whirling cage of deadly plasma. Maul danced away from one blow, then reversed his movement to avoid another, and then there were too many to count, and then there were even more than that.
He moved his sabers so fast they appeared as a blur and when he could track them they overwhelmed his senses in terms of how many he could perceive. Sidious is faster than Maul by a great deal

Yeah except that never happened. They fought at the same speed in their final fight. Sidious disarmed him by simply being stronger.
The novel doesn't even note Maul also using Dual Sabers in that final fight. So quoting that is about as useful as quoting Dooku Ko'ing Kenobi with a flying kick in ROTS.
I think this forum would have a better time if the rules permitted us to debate Legends Canon separately from New Canon if we choose. Because frankly I don't really care for the animations or even the films in comparison to the novels, comics and other material, and I'm tired of puerile arguments about what is canon and what isn't.

I didn't say Sidious is not faster by a great deal. I just said he can perceive. How can you dodge from something twice (especially in one-on-one) , if you can't even perceive ? Clearly Jason Fry stated there TCW Darth Maul become noticeably faster than TPM Darth Maul, but it was still not enough for keeping up with Darth Sidious.
Kit Fisto managed to perceive Sidious's top speed (unlike Saesee and Tiin did), but he still failed to keep up with vaapad amped Windu and Sidious.
Jason Fry didn't say anything along the lines of Maul being "noticeably" faster. He just agreed with you that Maul became more powerful "in general". That statement is actually up to personal interpretation in many ways. But it wasn't really enough of a boost in speed to suggest that Sidious couldn't still speedblitz him. Going by Legends Canon, anyway. You know, like Shadow Conspiracy is a part of, which was written by none other than Jason Fry. Lol.

I concur
