Doctor Strange

Just saw this. Solid movie. Strange himself was perfect, Dormammu was well done, and the Ancient One was fking great (seriously she stole every scene she was in).

As others have said, the humor fell seriously flat in some parts. That Beyonce joke, for example, was cringy as hell.

Some of the humor was well done though.
"Teach me!"
"No."

Still, I remember back when they said Dr. Strange was going to be a horror movie. What happened to that? It would have fit the character so damn well. His stories have never been very humorous after all. The various interdimensional horrors should be treated as the horrors they are. I want to fear Shuma-Gorath when we eventually encounter him. Not a fan of Marvel having to constantly inject unneeded humor into every one of their movies. It makes sense in Iron Man. It will definitely make sense in Spiderman. It does not make sense in Dr. Strange, nor is it needed.

It ruined part 3, though.

Now THAT was an example of too much humor ruining a film.

Bad humor to boot. I hope that kid actor that played Tony's sidekick gets bullied at school.

That kid was in Jurassic World.

So he most likely gets private lessons. Gotcha 😛

Another strike for DC.

Better than all the Harry Potter films combined.

Great movie. Unsure if it is a 9 or an 8...but lets just go with a 9 for now.

Arachnid1 is right about some of the humor feeling too forced. Towards the beginning, it seemed like they were trying to be funny too much...it it kind of got in the way.

Spoiler:
And Wong's laugh lasted a bit too long: we got the point.

Spoiler:
What I wanted to see was Dr. Strange level up with his time loop. Meaning, to get more and more proficient and powerful with his magic use because of practice. That way, when he finally came out, he was leveled-up enough to actually be the next Sorcerer Supreme.

I thought they did a really good job of making him an arrogant prick *sshole of a surgeon. People may shit on me for this but I thought it was done better than in the comics (go back and read it...you can find it on the interwebz for 616).

Go see it, people. It's a must watch, in my opinion.

Upping my rating of this to 9. It was really good.

It was a 10 for all intensive purposes

I want to see Strange own Stark in Infinity War.

I'm seeing this on Saturday.

Remember to use spoilers, guys. 👆

Ban anyone who tried to spoil.

Superman does not make an appearance. Also, the villain is not Ozymandias.

Priceless..^^😂😂

just got home from seeing this.. this is one of Marvel's best... Ben excelled as Stephen.. Liked the story a lot... Mads make a good villain. liked Chewitel.. Even Rachel McAdams and Tilda Swinton were awesome...

Marvel knows how to do humor very well...

easy 10/10 5 star film
