I'll say this, there is a line in the film that's not a spoiler, as it was in the trailers.
"Forget everything you think you know". That was not a line to any character in the movie (it was); but it was a line delivered to us as the audience....this movie opens not only doors for the MCU going forward, but EVERY comic book movie going forward.

Just saw this in Imax 3D. I'd give it a solid 7.5/10. It definitely has the best visual effects ever put to film, which alone are worth the Imax price. Narrative, it's rather generic. As my younger brother, who only thought it was OK, stated, it felt as though it was just a standard conga line of superhero film plot points (it should be noted that he finds MCU films boring (he enjoyed BVS more than CW) and, unlike me, was unimpressed by the effects of this film; he said he preferred the practical effects and stronger storyline of The Magnificent Seven to this)
I consider it a superior version of Avatar, in that it has a generic plot but hitherto unseen effects that turn it into a visual experience that must he seen to be believed. Luckily, unlike Avatar, the charismatic Stephen and his superhero journey is far more entertaining than the bland Sully and Pocahontas plot of Avatar, and the effects are far more imaginative than flying mountains. Visually, this may be the most beautiful film I have ever seen.
Even going beyond the extradimensional effects, the scenery of skylines, cities, Mount Everest at one point, and the night sky
Spoiler:is practically pornography for visual aesthetics. It's the kind of CGI cinematographic beauty that I haven't seen since Pacific Rim. For anybody who enjoys the cinematography of visual effects, seeing this film on the hugest screen possible is an absolute must.
during Ancient Ones death
I pretty much had one goal this year: See Dr. Strange and be visually exhilarated before our shitshow election throws our country into chaos. My goal has now been completed.
Haven't seen it yet. Am planning to next week, but I like this article:

Yeah, nice visuals only go so far. If it's another bland Superhero plot I'll definitely wait on this one. Thanks for the heads up.
It was a bit odd to me though that just anyone can become a sorcerer and that it's so accessible. It was so easy for Strange to find the Ancient One and be given access to all her knowledge. I'd think if it's that powerful, the knowledge should be treated a bit more precious. Anyways minor complaint.
