Not pointless. He's basicAlly saying " I think you're so beneath me I can do this almost naked. I don't even need the armor you saw."

I'm not referring to the implicit power of Thanos becoming explicit. But rather the consequences of Civil War appear to be all for naught as Thanos arrival has forced everyone's hand. That and aside from some new faces, the adventures in GotG vol 2 in comparison approach IM2 levels of pointless given the stakes.
The consequences matter, but it's all in proportion and perspective. Thor hears from Iron Man about the Civil War, and his reaction: "You think you had problems? I just lost my whole world, literally! And now the fate of the universe is at stake! You and your government have to get over it!"

Thanos looks Amazing in terms of CGI quality, I'm just not a fan of the look they went with in terms of design. I'd prefer the more menacing looking Thanos that we've had in the past, and comon, where is the armor/helmet?!That being said, I LOVED the trailer and cannot wait for this movie.

I thought his arm was already vibranium?
I don't remember them ever specifically telling us what his first arm was made of. It's only ever described as "metal" as far as I can recall. But considering it got damaged by Cap's shield during the highway fight in TWS, repairs could be made by Hydra using fairly standard-looking tools (again, during TWS), and it got completely vaporised by Tony's unibeam, I highly doubt it was vibranium. I mean Tony going HAM, combined with Vision and Thor, took several seconds before starting to show any serious effects against Ultron Prime, and he was only described as a "vibranium cocktail". But I would say it is a safe bet that the new one will be.
I'm wondering whether we will see any of this in Black Panther though. I wouldn't be surprised if Bucky getting a new arm ends up being a post-credits scene for it.
