It's true there would have been whining and cries of racism if it didn't get a nomination, but you know the funny part? Now that it's been nominated that isn't enough, if it doesn't win? It will still be racism. The only way it won't be called racism is if it loses, but Black Klansman wins.

And if BP does win certain people will act oblivious to the fact it did not do so on merit. Then again how many best picture films do win on merit? Didn't a movie where a woman f*cks a fish creature get best picture?

I'm hoping Green Room wins just to see the meltdown that follows lol.

Women on fish action was the last of that movie's problems.

I dont think people would shout racism if it wasnt nominated. Because no superhero film has ever been nominated before.

I think the Academy wanted to finally include a superhero or popular film in the nominations, and they simply found BP the most worthy of that nomination this year.

I mean Black Klansman was already in there, so how could anyone shout racism?

Hey I didnt it was my favourite comic book movie of the year!

But honestly I cant remember a time when my favourite film of the year was nominated for best film at the Oscars.

But I can see critics/academy voters would finding BP more appealing than Infinity War.

Seeing this film retroactively now in light of Chadwick's passing kinda gave me a new appreciation for it, and regardless of how Black Panther 2 might turn out if it still happens, can at least say Wakanda forever in regards to this first one...

Especially since, going by the timeline, this would have been the first marvel movie he filmed after his diagnosis.

I am kinda reminded of Bill Hicks, who also passed away from cancer just as he was experiencing a lot of success. Boseman's career was really taking off in the last few years.

Chadwick Boseman was an iconic actor who inspired countless lives......but my opinion on the film is the same as it was when I first saw it. That opinion essentially being:
