Compliment Your Mirror Day
Date When Celebrated : July 3
Today is Compliment Your Mirror Day.
Now, here is what you need to do.........
Stand in front of your mirror with your eyes closed. Put a big smile on your face.... a big smile. Now, open your eyes. Isn't the picture of the person in your mirror absolutely stunning!? The person in your mirror is beautiful (or handsome).
Do not let this special holiday be overshadowed by the 4th of July. Make sure to compliment your mirror for displaying this beautiful person.
Happy Birthday America!
Independence Day, the 4th of July
When: July 4th.
The fourth of July is the birthday of our nation. Today, we celebrate and enjoy the freedom that comes with the event that made this day so special.
Thomas Jefferson, is the author of the Declaration of Independence. He led a committee that crafted the declaration between June 11-28, 1776. Jefferson and other discontented representatives from the thirteen colonies, voted and approved it on July 4, 1776. The document declared freedom for the 13 colonies from British rule. It currently resides in the Exhibition Hall of the National Archive in Washington, D.C.
Did you know? The Declaration of Independence was not signed by all representatives until August, 1776. To make it official, John Hancock, President of the Continental Congress signed it. Now, can anyone guess where the saying "put your John Hancock on it" came from!?!
Today, we enjoy the benefits of the freedom which the framers signed and ultimately fought for. For us, it is a time for baseball, hot dogs and family picnics. Summer is in full swing and life is good.
Fourth of July is not complete without parades and fireworks. Fireworks are enjoyed by almost everyone. You should have your choice of several locations in your area on the Fourth, or even the day before. Many cottage owners on lakes will set out flares along the shore creating a "Ring of Fire". Add to this an abundance of fireworks, and you have quite a display.
Haha, none for me thanks!
Work-a-Holic Day
Date When Celebrated : July 5 th
Today is Work-a-Holic Day. It recognizes the guy, or gal, who works all of the time....... even during holidays. While just about everyone is enjoying the Fourth of July holiday, the Work-a-holic is off working on some project. He can't relax. It's not in his nature. He's addicted to work. It's not necessarily work out of need. It's work because there either is work to be done, or there's a perceived work project to do.
Today's Saying: "All Work and no play, makes John a dull boy." ... Author unknown.
How do you know if your a work-a-holic:
It's the Fourth of July weekend, and you are at work or brought home work.
You are working because "It's fun!" Yes, we've heard that one before.
You work because you want to, not because you need to. (yeah, right)
You are always the first one to work and/or the last one to leave.
It's Saturday, and you're working.
It's Sunday, and you're working.
You're last thoughts as you fall asleep are related to work.
If you are a work-a-holic, we encourage you to use Work-a-Holic Day to break the habit. Simply take today off.
Not a big fan of fowl, but for those that are its...
National Fried Chicken Day
Date When Celebrated : July 6 th
National Fried Chicken Day is day to enjoy crisp and tasty, finger licking good fried chicken.
Fried chicken is one of America's favorite meals. Sure, we all know that fried foods are not good for us. But, fried chicken tastes ohhhhh so good. We just can't resist having it on a regular basis.
There's just one thing you need to do celebrate this day: Eat some fried chicken. You can have it for lunch, dinner or cold leftovers as a snack. Better still, have it for lunch, dinner, AND for a snack.
Not really my flavor.
National Strawberry Sundae Day
Date When Celebrated : July 7 th
National Strawberry Sundae Day is your opportunity to indulge yourself in this delicious dessert. Strawberries are one of America's favorite fruits. When the strawberries ripen each year, it's time to celebrate. Many communities hold strawberry festivals to celebrate the harvest. At the festivals, strawberries take center stage. They are in the ingredients of hundreds of recipes.
After the harvest has come and gone, summer arrives with heat and humidity. This is the perfect time to add sweet, tasty berries to ice cream for a cooling summer treat. Don't forget to add your favorite toppings. Whipped cream is a must.
Celebrate today, with a Strawberry Sundae.
Only in arcades, the way God intended
