Harry Potter vs. Star Wars Round 2

Exactly. Harry Potter will likely become a fad that dies and fades to obscurity in the next few years and go the way of disco and boy bands, along with hopefully Naruto and Bleach (when the latter ends, really needs to die)

Though to be fair, not too hyped for Star Wars VII "The Force Awakens". What an awful name

Though it has Andy Serkis, so that's got to count for something, right? Meh, idk

We are getting more movies and they have made a huge impact across the globe. Saying it will just go away is moronic.

Talk to me when the next films come out in the next few years, salty vagina.

movies have made more money but this thread isn't about that so stick to the topic.

False.

The point was made in another thread by an angry jedi lover how badly Star Wars destroys Harry Potter in terms of acting, story, direction, entertainment; everything.

I completely disagree and challenge your pathetic nostalgic notions, dissenters.

Read, digest, and enjoy.

Stick to the topic. You are so angry.

Quanchi, this is 2014, nobody cares about Harry Potter anymore, well, except preteens and Chris Chan lites (read, yourself)

Yeah, still waiting for the proof of more films, you know, given there's only 7 books, yeah

Fanatastic Beasts and Where to Find them. 😂

Lotr is about to conclude not Potter, *****. That universe will churn on.

Keep crying.

This is on topic, as the OP says "everything" that would include Franchise Revenue

Still waiting for proof of more movies being made (as in, proof or GTFO)

And no, Harry Potter will die out in the next few years as a fad and nothing more, since, again, only preteens and autist like yourself like it

Unlike Lord of the Rings, which is easily an extremely influential series

Everything subjective about the films in terms of directing, acting, etc. not the money aspect which was already covered in another topic.

So you admit to complete and utter ignorance.

Already have more movies than Lotr.

😂

Harry Potters is a global Success.

😂

Get mad.

Because LOTR didn't have as many novels, then again, we all know that more novels/movies doesn't equate to quality

With preteens and Chris Chan lites like you, yes it was

I used to like Harry Potter when I was 12, but in high school I grew up and discovered quality franchises (same with all my friends), how sad you never grew out of that

Compare to Lord of the Rings, which influenced alot of fantasy series, even some science fiction series and your pweshus Harry Poohead (in some way)

They turned one book into three movies.

😂

The movie was a global success so acting like it didn't reach adults is delusional thinking.

I did not like Potter at first but as the films grew darker and more mature they ended up being amazing. Lotr got weaker. Nothing ever came close to FOTR.

Lotr came first and is an amazing piece of fiction but in terms of movies the Potter films made more. Don't be upset.

Yeah, *****. The new film will be made. The franchise is going strong whereas Lotr is over with the hobbit three.

Potter lives on as a movie franchise. Shame.

😂 at cha, ignorant boy.

Because Tolkien wrote Hobbit as a children's novel and that was before he put so much background into the whole verse

Pssh, yeah right, I imagine a whole cinema full of children with you as the odd one out with your lard flowing out both sides of the seat with a whole packet of Cheetos and a 2 litre bottle of Mountain Dew, yelling obnoxiously loudly whenever Voldemort appears on screen and cries hard when he suffers any kind of setback, then security having to be brought in to remove you from the cinema due to noise complaints from the children then going on an eating spree at McDonalds due to being denied seeing the rest of the movie on the big screen and blacklisted from the cinema

That was, 2011, now nobody cares and has moved on to quality series, something you shamefully never developed into

I did not like Potter at first but as the films grew darker and more mature they ended up being amazing. Lotr got weaker. Nothing ever came close to FOTR.

Harry Potter's plot was retarded, Voldemort was a fail of a villain, the acting was meh at best, their "duelling" and "fight scenes" were boring as shit, most of the characters were terrible and there were no memorable moments at all

Lotr came first and is an amazing piece of fiction but in terms of movies the Potter films made more. Don't be upset.

I don't give a shit about quantity of films or box office

Simple fact if the matter is Lord of the Rings simply had a far bigger impact on geek culture and given alot of fictional universes were based on Tolkien's books puts it above a preteen fad like Harry Potter which influenced, nothing

If you thing Harry Potter was anything as influential or popular or what have you as Lord of the Rings, then you should probably make a judgement when you're not consuming excessive amounts of magic mushrooms, like you are now
