Wrong. The only reason why it appeared that Maul was faster than Vader is because the special effects were vastly improved in the new trilogy...and you're crazy if you think Maul was equally as skilled and strong as Vader. Vader would hand Maul's *** to him on a platter.
The Courtship of Princess Leia reveals that Vader was holding back on Luke, and could have killed him in their duel on the Death Star.
I haven't been reading any new material on Luke circa Battle of Endor - but what I know of the movies and his skills around that time period, he would get destroyed by Maul pretty easily.
He's slow and clumsy with a lightsaber, and while he has potential with TK, he isn't very focused with it, yet.
So I'd say Luke has no chance, here.

Because we've actually never seen a real prime Jedi working on a scene, crippled half droid half man (Vader), young boys (Luke) learning from old people (Ben). Even TPM Darth Maul is one of the most skilled Sith Lord in history of the Order, his skills as a warrior nonpareil, and yes Maul is physically strong as Vader, his strength feats suggests that. And also he kicked Vader's ass via strength before while he was just a clone.
