A new Toho Godzilla movie

After the success of Gareth Edwards’ American Godzilla, Japan’s Toho wants to remind the world where the terrible thunder lizard originated.

I guess we won't be getting two men in rubber suits like the old films, 2004 Final Wars was all CGI, and I remember the 1998 Godzilla appeared and got completely shit on and rightly so

will see so more destruction can happen

Evangelion & live action Attack on Titan directors to helm this new movie

Anno Hideaki?

I expect to see some bad English dubbing

Thanks Kazenji, thats good news. Gareths Godzilla probably wont see a sequel till 2018 most likely. The more Godzilla, the better.

Final Wars had CGI (for all the weapon attacks, and of course 98 Zilla) but it wasn't all CGI.

Only the recent '14 Godzilla is CGI, and I think that level of budget is too much for Toho.

This'll probably be like final wars, suits augmented by CG.

And I think we're entering a Kaiju golden age- *Two* Godzilla series, plus the Pacific Rim series? I am happy.

Higuchi is under order to keep Godzilla details secret. But he is promising the most terrifying Godzilla that Japan’s cutting-edge special-effects movie-making can muster.

Higuchi’s special-effects techniques were amply demonstrated in Attack on Titan.

The work combines computer graphics with manipulating a towering doll of rippling red muscle that resembles a giant biological anatomy chart, as well as special-effects filmmaking, using actors moving through miniatures, to depict grotesquely enlarged humans.

Applying to Godzilla that kind of technology, which Higuchi calls “hybrid,” has never been attempted in Japan. Higuchi is promising just that.

Iiiinteresting. So yea, practical + CGI but a more involved mix than I thought.

The movie has a title for overseas release, 'Godzilla: Resurgence'

I wish i could say that i care, but i'm more interested in seeing the next sequel to the latest, Godzilla movie. As i've grown up, i really don't care about the more silly, Godzilla movies. This may be different if EVERY, Toho movie wasn't so damn goofy.

Maybe that's part of the charm it being "Goofy" but the older movies from the 60's/70's were much more goofy then the ones from the 80's onwards.

Heisei wasnt goofy, millenium was a little. Final Wars should have been more serious but some of the fights were kinda goofy.

The humans in FW, were basically Power Rangers, IMO that was way goofier than anything from the 70's.
