@Carv BLs have shitty durability.

....then he doesn't get THAT level of power, then.

Otherwise, shall we run through the level of power output Storm can have??

Carv, you have to accept the fact that I will find you, and I will kill you.

I thought you and Dark were working together to take out Digi.

Okay, read the last few pages, seems interesting.

Do we call dibs on a power now, or just send BW the pm and no-one knows what anyone else is thinking until it's all posted?

What are the caps, rulings and banned power lists so far?

pretty sure you have to post your power set here. only banned powers i'm aware of are time based powers and power dampening powers. there is a (mostly??) up to date powers list on page.....48. guess we're on OUR earth as well, so much of the tech and gadgets we see in the marvel u are not available to us here, or would require levels of super human intelligence to achieve. i think.....

anyway, glad you're in. i like you, so i'll kill you last. 😄

Since alliances are no longer an option, DS and I took different paths. However, be calm, you ain't my first target unless you bother me with some puny hurricane.

Checked 48. Saw things like Hyperion. Magneto and Hawksmoor as choices.

Doesn't that go against the "choose a power, not a character" idea?

Digi argued city control, healing and not needing to breathe, that's Hawksmoor, but it's also 3 different powers.

It depends on where you draw the line. If I say "Hawksmoor's metaphysical link with cities," it's one power, but it creates all of his potential in cities. Or you can say "phasing in cities, ability to wear a suit, healing, etc." Similarly, Magneto's control over magnetism. One power. But if you say "magnetic shielding, manipulation of metal, etc." it's multiple powers.

For the purposes of page 48, they may have simplified it to "Hawksmoor" but my initial post on the power was more like what I described above.

I wouldn't argue if overturned; this is mostly about screwing around. But neither Blair nor any combatant has objected to this point.

yeah, i think the usual corollaries go along with the powerset. i cleared up a bunch of possible pitfalls in pm's. like when i shrink i don't have to worry about breathing and the density control is also inherent. growth (ltd to low heraldesque feats) doesn't cause my bones to shatter or make me unable to move at massive sizes. it's kinda like one power and all the 'perks' that go with it i guess...

Actually, Hawksmoor is different from Magneto, the Atom, etc, in that each "power" isn't from a single source, ie, a mutation or something.

Hawksmoor was given power by others through a series of invasive medical procedures. replacing organs with... stuff... that gives his powerS.

Telling a building to catch someone falling from the sky and regrowing a spine after a werewolf attack are unrelated abilities, as is phasing.

Magneto uses powers that all stem from one source.

As far as the Spot discussion, opening portals is a power, dimension spanning awareness is another ability, so accurately "spotting" between spotverse and earth, let alone the blood system of moving individuals outwith direct line of sight would be nigh on impossible...

Unless the core power can directly be manipulated in various ways, we can't assume sensory or other abilities will be part of the package.

Teleportation is the power, knowledge of locations you can't see is not.
likewise, if I chose "magic" as my power, I wouldn't instinctively know a bunch of spells. Or if I choose electrical powers, I wouldn't know everything about a cities power grid or how much power a car battery can store.

Extra knowledge/senses would = additional powers....right?

Maybe? I still think it comes down to a pretty basic link with cities.

But again, I'm not here to argue validity. This is a nonsensical, fun thread, and I'm not even sure the BZ is still happening (is it?). If enough object, or if Blair does, I'll happily drop out. My other two ideas were invalidated by a ruling and taken by leo, respectively, so I don't have a fallback at this point.

Leo, huh? What'd that punk steal this time?

Ray Palmer's shrinking powers. Technically, size manipulation (including growth). Though I had first crack at it. I just went with Jack's power(s) instead, and Leo later took size manip.

My actual first choice was Kang's ability to pull weapons and tech from the timestream. But this is real-world, so I had no access to Marvel tech. The idea died in PMs.

Withdrawing.
I grossly misunderstood the rules.

Don't withdraw, just reevaluate and return

Anyway, I'm thinking..... Gravity powers.

Think Graviton, gravity, power pack, etc...

I've PM'd Blair about my senses; from what I gathered, I had them. Like somebody who chose superstrength would also have durability, so that they didn't break their arms every time they punched, or speedsters didn't burn up from the friction.

IOW, whatever passive powers you needed to make your primary power work.

But you don't need extra senses to make teleportation work.
Just like you don't need to open your eyes when running, it's just safer.

Nightcrawler gets along just fine without that crutch.

Superhuman durability to allow for strength? Allowable when implementing the strength, not so ok for random defence feats (imo)

If you were to open portals and look through them to check if it's safe, I'd go for that

Doesn't Nightcrawler need to know where he's porting to, though? He doesn't just do it blind. Like your analogy of sight when running, I guess.

I DO wonder how the Spot works, though. Does he scope the battlefield out in advance? Then strike? Or does he just know?
