Oh, people. facepalm
I'm calling it now: this recent pronouncement won't end well. Any thread or post perceived to be mocking or disingenuous or a "spite" will be reported. Given how wildly disparate opinions can be around here, there's an obvious potential for abuse.
Also, I'mma laugh my ass off when the intended targets of this proclamation turn it around on the people who called for it. haermm

Fictional characters aren't to be excluded from negative criticism just like real people aren't. If it upsets you that someone thinks lowly of a character that you enjoy, then ignore their posts and continue enjoying that character. My favourite character has been bisected by a padawan faster than he can react, shot in the leg by pirates, and has begged for the mercy of his life hard enough to mitigate every other badass moment of his career. I'm no stranger to feeling peeved at people making fun of my faves. It's just something we all get over.
Other people are fans of different characters than you, so when you start trolling a character it probably pisses that characters fans off, don't ya think?

Doing that just pisses people off and makes you look like a giant troll.
