It's not about people bashing certain characters, it's about them bringing the quality of discussion and the forum in general down by constantly trolling threads. What you seem to be forgetting is we can present lots of evidence, primarily through skillful use of the search function, that demonstrates the rate at which Carthage expresses certain views, the relentless, unchanging manner in which he does so, and his general history of being incredibly anti-Bane.

People should just become better acquainted with the ignore function if they honestly take offense to the opinions held by certain individuals.

What do you mean we can do this all day? We haven't even started. You'll find it's a lot easier said than done finding that evidence if you wanted to demonstrate that I've been trolling in such a manner. With Carthage, it's just as easy.

And sure, the ignore function helps me out, but it's the forum as a whole I want to protect, and whether I can see Carthage's posts or not, he can still potentially take up other people's time with his trolling, ward new members off, clutter the forum with his silliness etc.

We now also have lots of evidence that would undermine the sincerety of any such attempt by members such as yourself or ILS, seeing as it's quite clear that you'd be doing it purely as a response to certain members doing it to Carthage, as some kind of retaliation.

Not at all. Carthage will tell you he's expressing his honest opinion, not trolling. You'll say the same. Ultimately, there's no objective way to determine who is and who isn't trolling, since Carthage is usually very good about providing reasons for his opinions, even if one disagrees.

Ultimately, it's inconsequential but this isn't going to be as remotely effective as you all hoped. 👆

The sincerity of certain members is, again, inconsequential. I'm indifferent to trolling on either side since I have the option to (a) respond in kind or (b) disregard it {either selectively or via the ignore function}. Badabing wants the "trolling" to stop in general, not as it pertains to certain characters {Bane, Vitiate, Sidious, etc.}. Any post that could be construed as "trolling" or "mocking" with respect to a certain character, user, or faction is fair game for punishment.

Which illustrates that you all didn't really think this through. 👆
