Star Wars: Darth Vader

Why should popularity or being a main character excuse a character from dying in a comic or novel?

It isn't. Especially when, only looking at the show itself, Maul's fate is more or less resolved.

That wasn't a force barrier Vader was projecting. That was just the artist using an effect to show that Vader was using the force, to hold up the debris.

Force Barrier and Force Heal should NOT exist in newcanon. I always considered them godmodding.

I doubt they will kill off a character like ventress, maul, or ahsoka this early in the show or comics simply from a business standpoint. They're far too popular, well known and financially lucrative to be killed right at the start of disney/marvels big opening to the franchise. In my opinion they'll milk them a bit more first. Then again they might want to start off with a bang and whack a bjg name early. Who knows.

But i do agree with joker about the medium it would most likely happen in is the show. once again financially it would only make sense to have the biggest moments, with the biggest characters be published in the format that would give it the most exposure. which would probably be the rebels show.

You think they would have let Dooku survive ROTS, being in hiding somewhere just to kill him in a comic book? It's common sense dude.

Vos could die in a novel. Shaak Ti could die in a comic. Even Cad Bane could (though I doubt he will). No major issues there. Not entirely sure about Ventress.

But Maul or Ahsoka? No chance.

Maul is going to be milked for all he is worth, and then they're going to pull some "death of Superman" type shit, except likely not in a comic. Probably in Rebels.

Literally the only reason he's still alive despite his mediocre utilization is money.

They had their chance to kill him in SOD if they wanted to do that in a comic. The fact that they let him escape Sidious and live says it all.

Yep. Shows they didn't intend to kill him in the story.

Do I think they will kill him in a comic? No, probably not. But that doesn't mean he can't or shouldn't. I mean, hell, even Palpatine was killed in a comic.

Of course they technically "can." But they "can" also kill him off in a movie. However what they "can" do though is a very different thing to what they "would" do.

Palpatine was killed in a comic after being resurrected in a comic, so your analogy doesn't really work there, because where else were they going to kill him after bringing him back? Killing him in the same medium he was revived in makes perfect sense. Same goes with Maul Imho.

Canonically speaking, Sidious died in RotJ.

Thank god

Loved the new issue, and I loved the dark bits of humor and I completely forgot that little black astromech was packing that sort of heat. Vader's got a new feat of blasting a ship sized hole through stone 6/10, nowhere near his fear of blowing a hole through durasteel. The agent seemed to come out of nowhere and I was honestly expecting him to pay a slightly more important role, but Black Krrsantan always gets his man.

I can't wait for the next issue though. I'm really curious to see if he kills his rivals outright, or they live on to become fixtures in future comics or other media.

Black Krrsantan's cool.

I like Aphra. I hope Vader doesn't murder her.

The murderbots are better.

Agreed.

New issue is out!

It's...interesting, more of a setup really than actual action that takes place, though action does take place. But still Vader's saber skill seems pretty good, able to create blurs/afterimages, toying with his opponents and so on.

The next issue looks to be more heavy with action judging from what is gonna take place, this issue was more a setup to start that which understandable.

We get to see those new Sith/Inquisitors in action?

They weren't Inquisitors or Jedi or any of that, they were just creations. They did however show some alright skill, taking out an entire platoon of Vader's droids.
