Makes sense. BP (AND Shang Chi) are both superfast in terms of their combat speed. They very likely were moving so fast, they were sneak attacking BD before he could tense his skull up, thus landing painful blows on him thanks to their agility.

The guy put his entire body into the punch. To each his own but that doesn't look anything like a holding back punch.

How does Thanos hitting BD with everything he had factor into Gladiator being able to accomplish this?

I could go on about Thanos vs Ronan in depth but it doesn't matter. You've taken my point to you that Gladiator couldn't replicate it because Thanos hit him and taken it to the extreme. You should probably think about what you type a little more before you get a chance to hate on a character.

Me thinking Thanos "held back" became irrelevant the second you used my point to its extreme. My point was that Thanos hit BD not as hard as he can and thus Gladiator couldn't accomplish it
Your entire problem with this line of thinking is that you think Thanos went all out. Nothing about the conclusion, just the effort extended.
So then it simply becomes Thanos hitting BD as hard as he can under your own logic. But you're ignoring everything besides effort so it's hard to discern your point.
So following your input, this is now my point.
Thanos hit BD as hard as he could. Gladiator can't do it
