Spider-Man: Homecoming

I start my vacation the day this hits theaters 🙂

I wonder if it will be as good as Wonder Woman was

I hope it'll be at least 15-20 times better... then it might be close to MCU's average.

It's kind of difficult to be pumped for this when the trailer's have now spoiled the outline for the entire movie by this point.

Still curious as to whether or not the movie plans to keep the IM second fiddle thing going for the entire thing or contain it to the first act.

Blame Sony for that. They are in charge of marketing.
When the first trailer came out they fought with Marvel because Sony wanted a more "Action Packed" trailer. Marvel wanted the one where it showed Peter being a kid in high school.
Thats why there were 2 versions of the trailer. Sony wanted ACTION, explosions, etc.

^ Yeah they've not learned anything from the marketing for TASM2. I remember there was literally no action sequence in that film I hadn't already seen in the trailer and Tv spots.

But it's Sony's problem because it will effect their box office. As a fan I'm just avoiding the marketing at this point.

Anyway Feige calls Spider-Man the greatest superhero. Quite a bold statement for a character Marvel doesn't officially control the movie rights to:

"It's a straightforward Spider-Man movie"

http://comicbook.com/marvel/2017/06/05/heres-why-spider-man-homecoming-reminded-robert-downey-jr-of-iro/

IM/TS is supposed to be be in 5 or 6 scenes only.

Feige again confirms Marvel basically made this film. Sony just paid the bills:

A pre Scorpion Mac Gargan to appear in the movie, Played by Michael Mando

hopefully they're not stupid enough to kill him off

also noticed was Vaas in Far Cry 3.

The Social Media embargo has been lifted.

^ Yep:

Seems very positive, but only 1 or 2 saying it's the best Spider-Man film. One guy said it's the 3rd best (presumably behind Ramai's SM1&2).

Good to hear all the positive reception. Also good to hear Vaas is going to be Scorpion! I'm actually really hyped for that

Also, Parkers Scarlet Spider gettup really tickles me for some reason

I'd say it's a reverse scarlet spider

Tom Holland confirms that the small child seen in Iron Man 2 is indeed Peter Parker! "That's Peter" Holland said. “I can confirm that, that is Peter Parker." “I can confirm that as of today," Holland said

Kinda strange coincidence. But hey, why not?

Guess it reinforces the connection between MCU IM and SM.

Seems a little out the blue like 'hey, remember that kid who was dressed as Iron man? That's Peter Parker now!' If MCU hadn't gotten the rights to Spider-Man it woulda just been some kid

Why do they keep making Spider-man into more of a child with every version? This kid looks like he's twelve. How am I supposed to take him seriously?

Yeah but it was still pretty clearly a throwback to the original. I wonder if we'll ever get Ben himself, or if thats too comic-booky for the movies

That seems REALLY shoehorned in. I guess it's kind of cool, and explains his IM fanboyness. Plus that entire scene was in Queens, so Pete at a science/tech expo definitely makes sense.

I guess I'm slightly salty because it adds fuel to the Parker/Stark relationship I really wanted to fade.

Speaking of, check out this short interview. Guaranteed to give you a good laugh 😄

Like the comic readers did when he was introduced 😛

Iron-Man 1 was actually the first unofficial appearance of Peter.

There was pregnant lady in the crowd when Tony said "I am Iron-Man". Everything points to that lady being Peters mom.
