The few reviews I've seen thus far have been very positive.

Positive but I'm not overjoyed by people calling it the 3rd best SM film. I'm hoping it's the best but will settle for 2nd behind SM2. Given they'll have more chances to best SM2 later on.

I haven't seen it mentioned as third yet, I'm assuming said reviewer ranked it behind SM 1&2? There'd be serious issues if it was ranked behind either of the ASM movies.

Yes SM1 and SM2. Although I initially preferred TASM1 to SM1. But then TASM2 kind of dented my perception of TASM1. But either way I would be disappointed if it wasn't better than both SM1 and TASM1.

One reviewer said 3rd best. Most are saying "Best since SM2" which still leaves it open to being 3rd best behind SM2 and SM1.

If this movie does do well and gets mostly positive reception, it wouldn't surprise me at all if some people hated it simply because it's not like the Raimi films and it's not Tobey Maguire.
