The Gentry Invades The Marvel Multiverse

Only one issue left. From what we know so far, what would it take for the Marvel universe/Multiverse to take down the Gentry?

The MU has already been invaded and destroyed by the Gentry.

That's the point.

They did took over Earth-Prime and Beaten Ultra Comics right?

Maybe classic She-Hulk or Deadpool use there 4th wall powers to try to stop them maybe?

Yes, and no.

As evident by the first 2 pages of the book, which serve as both the beginning and the end of the story, Ultra survives his battle with Intellectron. However, he is trapped in the Oblivion Machine's endless cycle. So he lives... Then dies... Then lives... Then dies... Then lives... Perpetually.

Doom solos.

Good thread.

so, who do you think can take out the Gentry? IYO?

4th wall powers, probably, or perhaps TOAA, because it's an analog for Kirby, and likely has similarly meta powers attached to that distinction. I could see a nutty comic where Deadpool convinces everyone of what's going on, then uses his powers in conjunction with, like, Cap's jobber aura to get the job done.

However, you yourself said there's one issue left Golgo. Why not wait to see it first? We're all just speculating here. Except maybe Galan, who could teach a course in this stuff by this point.

You know me. I'm very impatient. 😂

I couldn't even guess what the final issue will bring.

The sentry.

"TOAA?" ... you must've forgot about almighty She-Hulk!

4th Wall conceptual stuff ey. ... even the PM ... bring it son.

So the LT has no choice but to summon his canon cosmic employee, She-Hulk:

She Hulk, she jumps in out of the pages which are PM,
she can effortlessly tear away any creation on the PM,
she controls the stories that appear on the PM,
and commands how she'll be displayed on the PM.

--------------------------------------------------------------

...bah, She-Hulk stomps the guys who put the "pages" into motion!

The "Pages" which are the PM.

(Executive Editor Defalco, and Editor/writer and legend, Gruenwald)

--------------------------------------------------------------

Then again, almighty She-Hulk can just kill TOAA as well:

(John Byrne no less)

--------------------------------------------------------------

The LT brings his cosmic counselor into the picture, and it's on. 😂

Oh, when I said 4th wall powers, I was including Shulky. I just didn't list her by name. But cool scans.

Indeed.

But seriously, it's a bit pointless at this point. Especially with a power this meta, that we'll likely struggle to conceptualize even after the arc's over, we're just killing forum space while waiting for something resembling certainty. Your impatience in many cases is understandable, but it's only going to net half-baked theories that we can't yet confirm.

you really think She-Hulk can survive the Oblivion Machine?

I don't even know what that is. But there's an incarnation of "She-Hulk" which allows her to do whatever she likes.

Byrne used her most, but she's made a few appearances here and there, same 4th wall monster.

Ultra could basically do the same, but was trapped within the Gentry's tricks.

I wouldn't say he did the same cause he fell beneath someone, while She-Hulk is God.

You did notice her killing TOAA yes? ... and beating the crap out of TOAA's bosses?

There's much more but I'm not gonna spam the thread. I thought that'd be suffice.

I think you guys are talking about different things. Gentry's power is very hard to put into context with even other 4th wall feats.

That said, it's pretty clear that Jen has some similar powers to Ultra and, depending on the writers' whims, would have a decent chance at a win and could possibly even escape the loop he's (apparently) caught in. There's no certainty here, though.

It wasn't really a 'trick' per se. The Gentry invaded/overtook Universe Prime, and subsequently, Ultra Comics itself. Ultra, who is a culmination of the readers' collective thoughts made manifest, is able to generate metatextual attacks(ie. the "negative criticism" of the readers) capable of briefly harming The Gentry. He is also capable of 'skipping scenes' when he's in danger, thus making him nigh-impervious to any sort of permanent damage sustained from any foe(no matter how powerful)--if he is injured/weakened, he can evidently just 'skip' back a few pages to when he was healthy and go from there.

Despite this, he was still ultimately trapped in a never-ending cycle of death/rebirth within the Oblivion Machine/Ultra Comics. For those who don't yet know: The Oblivion Machine/Ultra Comics is a cross-dimensional gateway of sorts. Reading this book opens up your universe/mind to an invasion from The Gentry--that's how they've spread across the multiverse. Hence why every other issue of Multiversity has made mention of the book being "haunted" and whatnot.

This is what happens when I think of Multiversity...

Do you think Jen can destroy the Gentry?
