I'm honestly at the point where I feel like MH is a better game than Legends or Alliance was. Or at least as good.

That overhead sky cam thing in games takes away from the true world feel like games such as DCUO has. That's really my only gripe. The rest sounds great. Hopefully they'll port MH to the consoles, that's where the money is. Then again, I read about the way that the game is run in terms of network servers, so unless they emulate DCUO's formula, I can't see it working for a much larger audience base. I'm also stuck in debt (student loans) and can't build a new rig to play PC games.

Going to give Mass Effect another shot.

I have the first game, but if I like it enough to continue the series, is there any reason to get the Trilogy pack? It's five bucks a pop if I buy them individually, vs 35$

I'd consider it if it included all the dlc, but digging around online, it looks like it doesn't... I'll need to pay for extras like "Lost Memories" or "Citadel" either way.

Ah, sucks man.

I would play DCUO if it let me play official heroes in PVE, tbh. Or just gave out licensed costumes so I could make my own. None of this "close enough" stuff.

pc or console?

If you have the option to get it on PC I'd get that version. You can even get a few mods. For Mass Effect 2 I installed a mod that changes one aspect without breaking the game. You know how when you are on certain maps your ships use up fuel? Well this mod merely allows you to store more fuel at once. So you don't have to go running back to get more fuel as much, which is just annoying. So it's essentially just a time saver because you still have to pay for the fuel, you'd be spending the same amount of money..you're just cutting back on the amount of times you need to go back and get it.

I think it might let you carry more probes as well.

That, and Origin regularly puts the games on sale for a pittance where you can get the whole trilogy for less than 20 quid. Minus dlc of course.

Console. 360.

The free dlc you do get looks like it's all geared towards online. Nothing close to the Fallout 3 or Mortal Kombat Komplete collections, that pack in everyone on disk..

That sucks.

I wonder why they have done it because 90% of collections come with all DLC. The PS3 collection has all the DLC aside from Mass Effect 3.

It sucks but all three games are great and have plenty of value. I probably have spent 40 hours per game. And the DLC is probably the best out there. I rarely ever liked DLC but Mass Effect 2 and 3 have very good DLC.

You don't really need the dlcs of ME1 or 2 apart from the ME2's dlc which explains why Shepard is on earth at the start of the third game.

I honestly think if you want to get the full experience, you should have all of the ME2 and 3 dlc. I have it, and I don't regret it.

Tbf I don't even remember what are ME2's dlcs, so I assumed they aren't that important or else I'd remember them.

I agree on ME3 though, the dlc in that game greatly improves the overall experience. 'The Citadel', for instance, is a must have.

In ME2, the big two are the "Lair of the Shadow Broker" one with Liara, and the Batarian relay one "Arrival" that was mentioned already. Those I would argue are the ones anyone playing the game should get.

Overlord is okay (and it does tie in to ME3 a little). The two dlc characters have a couple of nice missions. I have them myself, and I enjoyed them, but I wouldn't consider them must haves. Same with all of the costume and weapon dlcs.

Yeha, ME2 DLC is great. Shadow Broker is fantastic.

I enjoyed Overlord because it had a cool vibe.

It's a good story. I wasn't a fan of the hover section with the turrets, but the actual interior stuff was pretty fun, especially the last section.

I'm replaying the entire Legacy of Kain series chronologically. Just started Blood Omen 2.

I've only completed SR 2 and Defiance. Going to play SR 1 now.

Fights aren't challenging, but the story... magificient. No wonder you couldn't even skip the cutscenes in SR 2, they're too good to miss.

A question to the LoK veterans, what exactly happened to Hylden Lord after he destroyed Raziel's physical form and flew away in Defiance?

Thought the whole point of Defiance was the whole circle can be indeed changed since Kain was able to defeat Elder God and the Soul Reaver by that time was purified.

After that dont know what happened to him.Since Raziel changed everything and Janos was supposed to be dead.
Could be wrong though.

Soul Reaver is great as well.

If I had to put them in order mine would be.

Defiance
Soul Reaver 2
Soul Reaver
Blood Omen 2

Havent played the 1st.

BO 2 is cool in action and gore but story wise it's the weakest.

LOK is still one of the coolest series ever.

Wish they made another from where Defiance left off or from the time Kain resurrected the Sarafan and made them their vampire commanders.

I wish we got to play as Vorador...

It's a shame nothing's been done with the series since Defiance. Well, excluding that Nosgoth multiplayer game.

That free Strikers app I've been playing gave me the itch to play a shmup properly, so I dug up Ikaruga.

Forgot how HARD this game is. Personally, I think manic shmups like Strikers on hard are easy compared to it.. Hell, even so called "bullet hell" shooters only require practicing dodging skills for the most part. But Ika's more like R-Type then Gradius.. Memorizing attack patterns and level layouts are the only way to survive, and that only comes from trial and error (E.g., dieing a lot)

You might say games like this are the Dark Souls of shooters..

Vorador is pretty cool.

They could make a damn great sandbox game out of it where you have wipe out the Sarafan and populate Nosgoth with vampires.
Maybe allow you to chose from Dumah ,Turel , Raziel and the others.

Always wondered what kind of evolution could Kain have gotten.

Since that was the reason he killed Raziel after all too bad they forgot about that...

I liked Defiance, I enjoyed the first "Blood Omen" game too, despite it being wildly different from the other games in the series. Especially now that there are some fan made patches out there it makes the PC version a better experience.

But for the life of me I couldn't beat Blood Omen. Once I got the soul reaver and all the time travel shenanigans started happening my character just kept getting slaughtered. Blood Omen 1 is just damn hard.

I believe I tried playing BO1 like a several years ago... (God, why time flies so fast? lol)

... but there were some compatibility errors. There's a good fix for that, I assume? Some fanmade workaround or something?
