And no more one on one battle against super ships of doom!
Well there's a little room for that.

“All my friends were ‘Star Wars’ kids but I didn’t go to the movies, so I was the ‘Star Trek’ kid. Thinking about this, it became a very personal and very emotional decision.”

In his answer, Lin promises that Star Trek 3 will get back to its TV show roots:

“They haven’t really gone on their five-year mission, so what we experienced in the TV show hasn’t been touched on yet. That sets up an opportunity for exploration and the deeper you go, the more you are examining humanity. Those are the things that I absorbed as a kid and hope to tap into and embrace and celebrate.”

Great news actually, if he sticks to it. Star Trek should be about Star Trek 👆

^ Sounds great. Get back to it's routes, while keeping the great chemistry they've between the characters. And you can still have it action packed.

Exactly.

Wasn't overly excited over this director taking over the helm, but now with those comments I kind of am.

He has his heart in it, which is always good.

been a fan of lin for a while, trek 3 is in good hands

Really?

You must still be crying over the "evidence based" spanking I've given you in the Versus forum.

You avoided my evidentiary posts and just trolled in short paragraphs. Leave that to those threads and focus.

I provided clear visual evidence of what Yoda is capable of. And you're one to talk about trolling LMAO.

You've proven yourself as the Troll of KMC once again. That is an honor that will always be yours and yours alone.

Keep your trolling out of my Trek thread. Love me some NuTrek.

It begins.

For sure, much better than Abram's previous "I was never a fan".

Though I've read that comment might have been a clever ploy to pique the interest of non ST fans and get them in the theater.

I am still worried post Abrams what might happen to this franchise. I'll know next summer.

Might get some info at comic-con.

Anytime I hear someone loved the old series it makes me nervous this franchise could go the opposite route I prefer; the Abrams way.

i continue to be looking forward to seeing this.... i am expecting a good story with a boatload of action ..

oh and hopefully spock won't need uhura's help in a fight 😄

It's possible. At least Abrams said that by the second movie, he'd come around. Though what that means when you look at Into Darkness, I'm not sure.
