The only potential surprise here is Freeza, because he is still present on the field *somewhere*. Really hope Toei doesn't waste him, but I'm starting to fear they will... There's only 2 more episodes, ffs. ermm

One thing I really like about Super, is the cosmic hierarchy it establish's. The highest position any lower world being can ever hope to achieve is a God of Destruction. Gods of Creation, Angels, and whatever Zeno is are things you can't earn.
And odds are, Angels can't be "surpassed" any more then Zeno could. Ever.
This Tournament of Power is old school Greek/Roman myth stuff. It's gods playing with mortal lives, and nobody can defeat God. All they can do is play their game, and champion their causes at their own level.
On that front, as childish as Zeno seems, and even dangerous, this is basically how gods behave classically.. Balance needs balance, and lower worlds can only rely on their champions.
It's leaps and bounds above Toriyamas dieties being surpassed at every quarter arc.
Well when cdtm makes good points, he makes good points, like with the last above post. I have no bias against him, though tend to ignore the occasional troll posts.
But yeah, Beerus being humbled instead of butthurt or something is the one good result I can say about Goku surpassing him with MUI. Vegeta telling U11 to shut up and don't underestimate my race was pretty great moment in the episode too.

My only gripe is how they shit on their own world building by making Goku master UI in literally 20 minutes or less when the gods have been practicing it for like how long? I get that making others the witness to Goku's power ascending has always been the thing and all, but come on. It's whatever at this point though with how they're wrapping it up.
