It's not that Vette has no lines in the expansion, it's that she isn't a companion, canonically, that the Outlander brings around and fights with all the time. Some of these on the terminal list still have lines in the game, you know.

Well that's not confirmed, though.... Is it?

No lines in the expansion would make sense if she's not actually meant to be in the expansion. But I kinda get how they could do it

I can see why it's the way it is. Too many branches and variations to deal with in any way that would be satisfying. The omission of Scourge is kind of retarded for say, Rusk, is kind of retarded, but I can deal.

The terminal companions seem to be the romance companions plus Bowdaar, Scourge and Tanno. No idea why those 3 but ok whatever.

I guess the romance ones are cuz waifu lovers would scream if they weren't available. But no idea why they couldn't be story related.

Edit: Maybe they're only optional because they don't want people going "why is Kira here instead of banging my Knight!" >:[

Dumb for Scourge to just peace out of everything though.

People are stupid, but that's really not that big a deal when all the other possible Outlanders should just be dead anyway...

I'm getting it now, I remember bioware saying all the Vanilla romances continue, as long as you didn't cheat on them and stuff. It makes sense, since they can't obviously can't fit every companion into the storyline until you've gone through them all accepting them/rejecting them....

This is about whether they are companions or not "canonically," and as of now, Scourge canonically is not a companion in KotFE. None of the others are either. At best they might show up somewhere in the expansion, but they're storylines are done. They aren't continuing and they are no longer even remotely relevant to the plot of KotFE. The companions that need accepting or rejecting seem to be those like T3, not Scourge.

Again, you don't know that. The likelihood is, (and apparently it looks like it to the Dataminers) these companions simply come in after chapter nine...

There's no way that literally all the other companions are somehow relevant to the story of KotFE, especially when it's over halfway finished. Them showing up after Chapter 9, which I already said was possible on the last page and in the post you're responding to, doesn't really change that as far as plot goes, they are no longer relevant. That's not cynicism, it's common sense that with a budget, certain things just aren't possible, and making everyone that the PCs can bang relevant is one of those things.

None of that's really like Mission though? Mission didn't treat everything like a game, she doesn't misunderstand her emotions and she's not lawful stupid. Mission spends most of the game afraid for Zaalbar, bummed over Taris and mad and depressed over her brother.

I'm scratching my head on that one.

I remember Mission being pretty childish on Taris, pretty understandable given that she is actually a child. Her misunderstanding of her own jealousy towards being ignored by her brother. [s]Naive enough to not think I would make her best friend kill her.[/s] Vette's definitely more fleshed out, but that's true of most people in TOR. She may not be Lawful Stupid, but she wasn't really given the opportunity to be either.
