For both Gens and Esau, and following on from the topic of God, etc.: is Australia a heavily religious nation? America is obviously still quite religious, but England has become pretty secular as of late; among people I know, being a Christian is actually quite a strange trait. Not strange as in bad strange, just different, one you don't encounter that often among younger people.
I'm not religious & if I was to randomly think about all the people I know, I can only think of 3 who go to church on a regular basis...and one of them is only by obligation from his family.
HillSong has a big following but is considered on the level of Scientology-weird.
They make the headlines every now & then but purely on how much they make, how much property they own & it all being tax-free.
Considering our landmass is more concentrated than America...a lot of suburbs are defined by specific cultures...the Muslim community seems to be the worse portrayed by the media right now.
Every now & then we'll have 7th Day Adventist or Jehovah's Witnesses wanting to stop you on the streets to talk. Church run charity organisations are big & well respected but on a whole....not many people I know would turn to or mention God on a regular basis.
