Someone at WB really doesn't want these movies to succeed.

People know this is a tranwreck and are staying away.

👆

Considering how they actively tried to sabotage X-Men, I wouldn't be surprised.

🤨 Even Fox is in a better spot now overall than WB.

WB doesn't care. BvS and Suicide Squad both made massive profit. Perhaps not as much profit as they would have if they were actually decent movies, but they don't care. Blame the masses who supported the crap.

I think DC is hoping Gibson will the "Kenneth Branagh" they need.

Then again there was nothing unique Branagh brought to Thor IMO.

I disagree. As the top Shakespeare director in the film world, Branagh knows how to make actors act 'big' without it being an over the top campfest. He knew how to handle this world of palace intrigue and big emotions.

Thor was a crucial step forward for the MCU, being able to successfully bring in magic and fantasy to what was (so far) a pure science fiction universe with Iron Man and Hulk, and make them integrate.

To continue the Shakespeare metaphor, something is rotten in the state of Denmark/DC & Warners. Maybe until they remove Zack & Deborah Snyder, it won't smell as sweet as the Nolanverse did.

How ambitious are they?

Do they want to just get by, or do they really want to challenge Marvel & Disney?

BvsS. should have been an Avengers level hit, but fell way short of that and is up for Razzie Awards.

Suicide Squad benefited from Will Smith's star presence and Harley Quinn's huge cult, but my bet is the audience won't get fooled again.

Is Golgo crying...

Bye bye DCEU...

This is a bigger pile of shit than Fox from 2004-2011.

At least Fox has Deadpool, and Logan is looking to be promising as well. WB's got nothing in comparison. Maybe WW if it turns out decent, but even that seems like a long shot.

Eh, to be fair I think WW looks solid, if unexceptional. If it's simply good, that alone is a step forward for WB.

But Justice League is after it, so it might not even matter.

😆 This just keeps getting worse and worse for the DCEU, and I'm loving it.

You want the DC movies to be bad?

I think the DCEU is a lost cause at this point, so until it gets rebooted, yes, I'm enjoying watching how bad it gets.

Even if Justice League and Wonder Woman WERE good movies, I still wouldn't support the DCEU on account of how terrible MoS and BvS are. Those two films are just so antithetical to the characters, that I wouldn't want a potentially good movie to be tainted by them.

I think there's an argument to be made for MoS, but BvS and SS were not good enough to make me want to argue for either of those.

Either way, I agree that work is needed.
