Yep... If nothing else, at least Batman failing or not doing as well as a film will give other DC hero films more of their own chance to rise up and be successful without being outshined by Batman. After the success of Wonder Woman, I hope even more that Aquaman and other such films are around as decent & successful. Bats has had top billing long enough, with him and Superman getting reboot after reboot while others were left on the sidelines.
Silver lining I guess.

You're assuming Ben is in a bad situation. He could very likely like Reeve's idea of the Batman trilogy.
No. I just think it's obvious that Ben and WB came to a major blow over The Batman.
Ben is contractually obligated to still Star in the Batman. But him being in it would be like forcing Andrew Garfield to repeatedly watch Spider-Man Homecoming. He might "like" it, but don't expect him to be excited for it given his history on the project.

Maybe, but I think Ben is professional to know that Matt Reeves's script/direction is the best for everyone.

Why would that be? Who says what Reeves is doing is any better than what Affleck and Johns were doing?
I trust Reeves (Who is a huge fan of Batman/sci-fi, in general), then Ben. Not to say Ben's/Geoff John's script was bad, but Reeves is on a whole other level. WB is lucky they got him.

All his movies are great. They're better than Affleck on average.
You could easily argue the opposite.
Speaking of DC though, there was a trailer before Spider-Man the other day that I hadn't seen before that showed a bit more of the JL movie. Aquaman still looks crap, but it does seem like more of a "spectacle" movie than I had expected, so I can see it doing well commercially even if not critically.
I get them starting over. Imagine dealing with an actor who wrote the material, that'd be obnoxious.
I am curious what it was like though, would be cool if it ever leaked.
But if anything this is a positive step, not from writer to writer but from a movie directed by someone who didn't write the material, to a movie directed by someone who DID. Thats good, yeah?

Ben can't do a proper gangster flick. 😉
2019 is the target date.

Reeves seems more versatile, plus the super hero genre is close to what he's done before. Kinda.
TBH I honestly dunno if I can agree with that. He is a good filmmaker though, so I am curious to see what he'll come up with.
I had really hoped that they'd learned their lessons from Wonder Woman, but it seems not.
