Currently it's penguin if you've been following the news.

Who even cares? Relatively no interest in Batman. He’s been done to death.

Is Fatfleck still doing this or is he still waffling?

Affleck hasn't signed on just yet, but he did express that he wanted to stay as Batman in the DCCu, so I'd expect him be part of the solo film at this point.

Andy Serkis is rumored to be playing the Penguin, he dropped hints that he'd love to work with Reeves again. Not the best Batman villain, but Serkis is a perfect casting to the role and he'll likely deliver a solid performance there should be sign on.

IF Affleck plays Batman again he needs to get back in shape. Fatfleck in JL was distracting. The reshoots really hurt the movie in a lot of ways. Ben put on like 40-50 pounds.

I know he's 45, but he really has no excuse at all, it's his job to get into shape for roles and he has access to some of the best trainers/body sculptures on the planet.

Yep. And I think he could be a good Batman. His scene in BVS in the warehouse was great. He's capable of looking like a badass if he just stays in shape. It takes you out of a film when BATMAN of all people can't even be invested enough to stay fit. That'd be like if Chris Evans put on 50 lbs of fat and still tried being Captain America....it would just look.....off.

I hope from now one there is only 1 director of DC movies as well. Joss Whedon on his own is fine; but him coming into JL was a travesty.....especially regarding Batman's dialogue. I hope we get a Batman that is a notch less dark and brooding than BVS, but no where near the campy quipster he was in JL. I feel like that's one thing that's hurt the DCEU is their biggest star can't even hit the right note.

I don't understand why they allowed it, it's not uncommon for actors to sign contracts where they're obligated to stay fit, thin, grow a beard etc.

While we can say that having two cooks was probably one too many, not sure how much blame I'd lay at Whedon's feat, JL while not very good, was still an improvement over that train-wreck of BvS. From what I've read, the studio had Whedon's balls cupped in their hands and scrutinized his every move. Snyder needs to go though, completely out of the DCCU, imo.

I thought he was gone for good? Isn't he?

it depends on the day and/or week.. right now fatfleck appears to be wanting to stay as Batman , but it certainly could change

He probably changes his mind whenever that there is anything negative about the DCEU happens.

Then he should go. Batman is too important a role, and the actor who portrays him should be excited to do so.

Edit- Just notice talking about Snyder. Yes he is gone. There were executives at WB who wanted him gone after BvS, but some tool overrode them. No one there is defending him anymore though.

Poor guy though. It wasnt his fault. He was just operating above his pay grade. But WB are the one who chose him for that position, and then kept him there no matter how bad things were getting.

I love Watchmem and 300 though. And I like MOS. So one off movies like those is where he should have stayed at.

So I guess those talks/rumors of Jake Gyllenhaal possibly taking up the role of Batman after Affleck are just awash now?

With that said I have no real interest in this film coming up. Which is a shame since I never thought I would not be excited to hear new of a Batman film.

On another note did Sadfleck become Fatfleck because he was mad about backlash from Batfleck?

After all these years I just don’t care anymore

Now even Batfleck hates Dcu...

There's still a part of me that thinks that was intentional. A few times in the movie, he looks slower and older than you'd expect Batman to. Even when he's talking to Diana in one of the scenes, iirc it's touched on that he can't do this forever.

I think this is because Snyder wanted to go full Frank Miller with Batman (a mistake in and of itself). He just didn't realise that you can't have THAT Batman in a Justice League setting. Unless he thought he'd found a way around it.

That or he was leading up to Batman Beyond, but I doubt that.

You can bring up the inconsistency with the warehouse fight in BvS, but if Snyder's shown anything, it's that consistency in storytelling is not a strength of his.
