Low Herald Tournament Odds

meh, we'll agree to disagree regarding what is or isn't an amp, but in this case my opinion doesn't matter lol it's your show. 👆 the ruling does make me look at things differently though. even the pairing i sent to you can be viewed differently in one aspect....

Is Rogue being fueled by an external power source? No.

Does the existence of Sage fused with Rogue empower Rogues abilities? No.

Sage is performing a very specific ability on Rogue to accesses her abilities. Nothing is being amplified.

Fine, if it's all Rogue's power then put her in the tier that power deserves.

If she's at a lower tier then she is being amped

But nothing is going to change I guess... May need to rethink everything

__________

Edit:

Here's another way of looking at it.

Ray+Kara is banned, but that's no different to Rogue+Sage.

External influence sunlight/mental alteration to "fully unlock/access" the primary powered characters abilities.

Yet one is banned and the other isn't.

Sorry But no Scoob.
I got Beatboks, and Ahbilegend drafts.

There is plenty of time left.

There is a vast difference there. Kara is powered by light, it is the energy source of her powers and Ray grants control of light which allows the source to be increased. Basically she can have any length of Sun dip she wants.

Here's another example of an amalgam I used in a high herald tourney elsewhere.
Body of hulk, power of Hellstrom and mind of Kratos. Hulks body is gamma powered where rage unlocks the power. Hellstrom's hell powers are also more unlocked when he is enraged. Kratos has a greater rage than either had ever shown. His anger didn't add power it simply allowed each other part to use the power that was there to a greater level.

So amping is still banned, but unlocking, as defined by Id, is OK... Right? This may end up being important for judging purposes eventually as well.

And did anything change from the first round? Or is this just a clarification of something that hadn't been brought up?

scoob and i were both surprised at the interpretation of the amping rule that has since been clarified. we figured unlocking=amp, but we were wrong. opens up other possibilities is all, some more powerful than we thought allowed...

Hopefully this thing breaks down so much that I somehow get back in

I don't think anything has broken down psycho.
When I saw Scoob and Leo question why I would need a strategy "approved" I figured either I or they had something wrong. Hence why I thought I'd go into it in detail now so whoever was wrong didn't get caught out

it's a good thing it was clarified for sure.

Guess we'll just see what happens....

Just to be clear.

We can not use cheap tactics for One Hit Kills.

Examples:

We are not going to ignite an atomic level explosion on someones head.

We are not going to open a space rift inside someone.

We are not going to use darkforce to play twisties inside someones body.

Ill add this to the rules.

Banned: Cheap Tactic for One Hit Kill.

So how close CAN these atomic explosions be?... (Seem to recall nukes being thrown around in a first round match)

I was using 800 mile wide explosions, so....

Lay off the Indian food then.

It was all that magic. Hurts going in, and coming out.
